Review titled Poor sign posting and navigation
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 November 2024
I arrived early for my ECG appointment. Having not received a letter or any guidance as to where in the building I should go, I walked straight past the door that led upstairs to where I needed to go. Due the layout and overwhelming number of signs, most of which seem to be sellotaped to walls and doors, it was easy to get confused. As it was a Saturday, and I appreciate less staff may have been at work, I waited at the main reception downstairs for 20mins, and was then told I needed to go upstairs, even with the receptionists instructions, I struggled to find the door. As I missed my appointment by then, I couldn't be seen. Appreciate some of this may be my fault, but I came away feeling like something needs to be done to address navigation signage in this facility.

Appointment for Halter monitor fitting Nurse was Very kind and helpful, However more info and communication would have been great on how to use this kind of device As I've not worn one these kind before. But she did an amazing job of putting on the halter gently and firmly Very good Clinic Easy car parking aswell Easy Access.

Review titled Long waiting time
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 July 2024
Saturday afternoon 29th June 2024 After waiting 2.30hrs to be seen-by a doctor I asked the receptionist how long did I have left to wait. She kindly replied after taking my name , that there were 2 people in front of me. After 40 mins I went back to ask a different receptionist, as in the meantime they had changed shifts She replied that she could not say how long I had to wait. I explained that I was told that I had 2 people ahead of me 40 mins ago, She replied well that is not the case you have 3 people in front of you now. Basically saying take it or leave. Her attitude was not very nice, especially when you’re feeling unwell. I decided then to go home having not seen the doctor. To be honest I will not be going back there again. She just had no idea, her manner was quite awful ************************************************************************************** ****************************** This message may contain confidential information. Review titled Poor practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Took my wife there just after 8pm as she had cut her head when a heavy mirror frame fell on her. I had stopped the bleeding but it looked as though the cut should be glued or stitched. We were advised that there was no one available to treat her but the injury would be assessed, which it was. It was confirmed that she did require treatment and would have to go to Romford. A referral note was given to us and we went to Romford where we waited a further 2 hours for treatment. My point is why say you are claiming that Harold Wood is open if you are unable to treat a relatively minor injury and more importantly why are you not letting people know that the service has strict limitations. In fact what are you able to do? We wasted valuable time driving to Harold Wood when we could have gone straight to Romford.

Review titled Don't care about wounds and are not taken seriously
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 May 2024
Awful. I came in for a nurse or doctor to look at my wound as I have an open wound that I get packed and daily dressing changes after my perianal abcess surgery. I noticed it was pussy and oozing. So I wanted them to have a look at it and maybe give me antibiotics for the infection. They told me they can't see me that I had to go to queen's, they wouldn't even look at it. I advised them I don't need it packed as I can get my partner to pack and dress once I'm home. I just needed it checked incase I have an infection. They said they finish at 8pm and they have four people infront waiting so I will not he seen. I'm digusted at the services I was given. They refuse to see me, I'm unable to get wound appropriately at rosewood. My only option is haroldwood. But they are refusing me everyday. So I have no other option but to get my not trained partner to pack a wound.

Review titled Waste of time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anmol - Posted on 27 March 2024
My daughter had a fall at school with cuts along her nose, face and she was limping. I went to the pharmacy and they suggested Harold Wood Polyclinic, so that's where I took her. Firstly, there was one person on reception dealing with an ever increasing queue of people waiting to be registered so the wait time there was already longer than it should be. Secondly, the assessment nurse was good and were seen very fast Lastly, waiting to be seen by a nurse was approaching 5 hours before we gave up. When I asked reception how long it will take, they said there is one nurse that is seeing 13 patients today. Why is there only one nurse dealing with a whole day's worth of patients on a week day? Why couldn't the doctors take a look at her? In the end, we had to leave because my daughter was getting hungry, upset, the cuts on her face were weeping and bleeding, and her knee was aching increasingly. My honest opinion is, I don't understand why it's called an 'urgent' care centre. There is nothing urgent about this place. In the end we went to Queens A&E and were in and out within 2 hours. Just close down Harold Wood Polyclinic. There is no 'care-giving' taking place here.

Review titled No doctors
Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited with my unwell baby. I saw a nurse who took his observations and was told to wait outside. An hour later one of the reception staff members goes to speak to patients on the other side of the waiting area who become annoyed. No one speaks to my side of the room so eventually I go to ask what’s happening, only to be told they don’t have any doctors and don’t know when they will. I ask how that’s possible and they tell me that the doctor was meant to come at 6 but hasn’t. I ask ‘at 6? But it’s 6:45; why weren’t we told sooner? My son is asleep, he’s exhausted, now you want me to drive 40 minutes away to wait somewhere else? No I’m going home.’ I the no have to relay the message to another mum with a baby who wasn’t told. Absolute disgrace. I understand that things happen but the least you can do is tell people immediately rather than wait 45 minutes before doing so.
