Review titled Signing in
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2023
Although I am an ex Banker and now insurance broker I witnessed the signing process computer with no assistance I had to question if I had completed correctly I witnessed an elderly couple attempting to sign in front of me who talk a lot longer and it was visually noticeable the frustration that couldn't of been helping there illness for attending I am a carer for a personal friend who lost his wife after 63 years on Boxing Day his wife assisted him with every thing he as no computer no mobile phone as he does not understand I'm just concerned that the elderly who need help will be neglected and left behind also I had to attend the centre referred fro 111 with no compassion who looked after me wanted me to go hospital which after a day of getting worst with my illness the process of an ambulance I was rudely told your not going to die in the next 20 minutes so can't get an ambulance the health process and 111 in my opinion only increased my feeling poorly due to attitudes and process if the process to help in illness increases the illness what a sorry sad state of affairs we have arrived at I can say once your illlness is diagnosed and the treatment received after coming out of hospital after a 3 weeks stay is excellent the issue I'm disturbed about is the procedure for getting treatment and the seemingly thrown on the scrap heap for elderly people unable to get to grips with technology Steven

Review titled Great Urgent Care Centre

by Dr C G Nanda Kumar - Posted on 10 March 2023
The ear bud portion of my hearing aid got stuck in my ear and I only realised this after removing the hearing aid. I was quite worried since I knew it’s too far in and would need ENT expertise to remove it. I had heard good things about this centre from my family so drove from Anstey in heavy snow. Car parking was generous and free. The centre was not crowded and I was seen right away in the reception. Within 10 minutes, I was triaged and asked to wait. I expected a fairly long wait since I knew they would have to find an ENT specialist. I was called again after just over an hour and was seen by an ENT surgeon. Because it was difficult to grip the stuck earbud, another surgeon was called and to my great relief he extracted it in one piece. The great thing about this centre is that it’s attached to Loughborough hospital. A drive back in heavy snow, this time with immense relief and less than 3 hours of leaving home, I was back in it’s warmth. Right through I was treated politely and with respect. We don’t realise how lucky we are to have our NHS and that too without any charges. You’re the real heroes guys. Hats off to you.

Review titled Excellent treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5

31/3 2023 I fell at home, my husband drove me to Loughborough. I was at the UCC for 3.5 hours (from 1pm on a Friday) during which time I was triaged, X-rayed, had a full assessment, treatment explained, wrist and hand put in plaster and a boot supplied for a broken metatarsal in my foot. All involved treated me with empathy and professionalism. 5* all round.

Review titled Thank you so much for your invaluable 24hrs quick service.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nosey Parker - Posted on 06 March 2024
Over a few days last week, I was suffering an unknown pain in my thumb, which had become more and more extreme, even after a visit to my local GP practice. On Friday evening the pain became increasingly unbearable, I was unable to sleep and was pretty desperate to known what was causing the pain, and how it could be reduced. I was beside myself, knowing I needed professional help and advice, but the thought of attending the LRI A & E on a Friday evening filled me with dread. I checked and was relieved to see the Loughborough walk in centre was open 24hrs. I arrived about 1.30am and completed the initial computerised assessment input. Within an hour I was seen by a cheerful triage nurse, and soon after by a positive doctor. They provided invaluable advice and guidance, which later at home, enabled me to reduce my already short thumb nail, to expose a hidden septic splinter and completely remove it and the pocket of puss. The severe pain was much reduced, so I could finally get to sleep. And within the next few days the pain reduced even more whilst I taking antibiotics prescribed by the GP and protecting the exposed nail / splinter area. Thank you so much for the help I received in my time of need, you provide an invaluable quick service, which available 24hrs, without the massive waiting times at other venues. Please keep up the magical work. Thanks again.

Given a referral by 111 as our 18 month old was experiencing breathing issues, waiting over two and a half hours. What’s the point in being told your case is urgent and then when you follow advice only for an “urgent “ care centre to be the most casual place in Loughborough. NHS I’m crisis? Absolutely but some is of there own doing! Disgraceful

Dear Rob, Thank you so much for taking the time and for providing your honest feedback which is appreciated regarding your recent experience with us at the Loughborough Urgent Treatment Centre especially as your child was poorly. I am the Patient Experience & Inclusion Lead and AIS Champion for DHU Healthcare, and I am both disappointed and sorry to hear that your experience with us was not positive on this occasion specifically in relation to the waiting time despite being referred by NHS111 and being told your child needed to be seen urgently and the lack of urgency or concern of the staff. If you would like to contact us directly regarding your experience then we could investigate your concerns in more detail to better understand and learn how we can do better in the future then please do not hesitate to contact our Urgent and Emergency Care Clinical Governance Team on 0300 1000 407 (should you get the answerphone message then please leave your name and contact details and a member of the team will call you back within office hours – Mon-Fri, 0900-1700) or via email at dhuurgentcare.clinicalgovernance@nhs.net. The team will then be able to take more details from you so that they can investigate why this has happened, and they will investigate your concerns further and feedback and as I say can help us to better understand and aid us in learning how we can do better to stop anyone else having a poor experience in the future as you have clearly had on this occasion. In the meantime, I will share your comments/feedback with our Senior Management team at the Loughborough Urgent Treatment Centre. I do hope that your child has now received the care and treatment they required and is on the road to recovery. Best wishes, Judith Brown Patient Experience & Inclusion Lead and AIS Champion (DHU Healthcare CIC)

Review titled Wonderful staff

My daughter injured her foot and could not walk on it. We attended urgent care and were promptly assessed and sent to X-ray. We waited for our time slot to be seen by the Dr and were told she had a fracture and needed a cast. We were treated by some lovely staff who went out of their way from start to finish. As a parent of a child with SEN the staff were very good and very friendly to help put her at ease. We thank you whole heartedly x
