Review titled Worst ever
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Bystander - Posted on 21 March 2024
I have a problem with headache, swollen hand and feet, also pain in my joint for all my limb. I came to urgent care to get treated, waiting from 18.20 to 22.51 still no one see me. They clearly saying 4 hours waiting. I’ve been here more than 4 hour with no luck. I am in pain badly instead get treated I have to wait that long. If I know this, I will choose to stay home at least I can get rest rather than torture myself waiting in uncomfortable chair, with swollen hand feet, painful joint and nightmare headache. What’s the point having emergency and urgent care when you are not treated when you need it the most. What type of illness that finally you get to see the doctor. Last year my husband got injured in his mouth, clearly cut and bleeding badly, he still need to wait for 3,5 hour to get stitches. This the worst experience.

Review titled Poor care, lack of empathy and rudeness
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Amy - Posted on 22 March 2024
Arrived here with my daughter who was unwell, headaches, temperature, light disturbances, achey legs. They took her observations and it would have triggered on her early warning chart. Got told she would be triaged. Fast forward her sat there crying in pain, me going up saying what is going on and was told she will be next. 2 and a half hours of me going up there to finally get her some pain relief with a temperature of 38.4. Rude receptionist said did I request pain relief? Now baring in mind The observations triggered when she walked in and she had paracetamol over 2 hours prior so had this have been escalated she wouldn’t of sat there crying in pain and been made to feel comfortable like the notice said in the waiting room should happen. We shouldn’t have to beg and make a fuss to be treated with care and compassion and have basic needs met. Best off going to A&E than here, as least your triaged quick and no way would the staff there leave someone with a temperature of 38.4 for over 2 hours with no pain relief. Never been so disappointed

Review titled Awful Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sally - Posted on 29 March 2024
When I finally got in to see the triage nurse, he asked me what was wrong and I explained that I had injured my shoulder. I had limited movement, swelling, pins and needles up my arm and chest pain. He did not even ask to look at my shoulder or lift my arm to see range of movement. He just said it sounds like a sprain and to take ibuprofen. If I thought that would work then I would do that and wouldn’t waste my time in urgent care. The pain was excruciating. Disappointing. If he had even looked at it and then said that, I might understand but he didn’t do anything.

Review titled Not perfect but great that they are there
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 March 2024
When our one year old baby has been sick a couple of times, 111 has sent us there to have her checked out. The waiting times are a lot longer than I'd like. Occasionally it's seemed like the examination of the baby has been a bit superficial or we've been fobbed off with "she has a virus and will be fine". However that's more about perception I think. It's probably obvious to a trained professional that the baby will be fine after a quick check and their response is medically sound. As a worried parent though occasionally I've left still thinking I hope she's going to be ok. Waiting times have varied from an hour to more than 4 hours for us. It's not not great when it's the longer time. I understand that they can't give us better estimates because it depends on so many things, and if anyone more urgent turns up etc, but when you have a small baby and other important things to do it doesn't always feel great. Having said all that I'm very glad they are there. Their service isn't perfect by any means, but it means you _can_ always see a medical professional when you need one, and with a baby it's sometimes hard to know if you really do or not. The staff are hard pressed but have always seemed polite and friendly as long as you work within the constaints they have. So overall, I'm very glad they are there, the service seems generally to be good enough medically and very reassuring to have it available. Perhaps some work on perceptions and waiting times might be nice. (For example being given an honest assessment of your priority would be helpful. I'd _like_ to be told that our problem isn't assessed as very urgent so we are likely to have a longer wait than other people in the same queue, if that is indeed the case)

Had to stay for 4 hours for my 18 month baby to be seen when he had a difficulty breathing then I had to leave and came back after one hour and I have been told I have to stay 4 more hours as I have to stay 4 hours regardless of the situation

Review titled Very good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lynn (Linda) Yaxley - Posted on 25 January 2024
I was feeling quite poorly with blocked ears and sinuses whilst trying to get over a nasty cold/ virus, I arrived at the unit at approx 8.15am Saturday morning, on my arrival I gave my name address and doctors surgery, I explained how I felt, I was asked to go round to the back of the reception to where I had my blood pressure taken, then asked to take a seat in the waiting room, the receptionist was so nice and genuine, I sat down at 8:30am I was called to a room approx 8:45am I saw a clinical nurse that had a lovely personality but was also very professional she listened to my chest and back, also my throat and ears, she then gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I left the unit at 9 am so was in there for 30mins in all. I was so grateful for the politeness and caring attention I received so professional. Thank you MK Urgent Care Service.

Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2023
Been here for over 5 hours and still haven’t been seen. It’s December, it’s freezing in the middle of the night with no heating and draughts. Everyone’s sat shivering in their coats with only one nurse and one doctor dealing with god knows how many people. After 4 hours of waiting one nurse comes out and says they will be prioritising people, no matter how long they’ve been waiting for! Absolutely disgusting

Went here as I have a hip problem which was giving me excruciating pain , the pain was more than I have experienced previously. I was in more pain if I sat down so have been standing for most of my time being here , 4 hrs . How can you expect people to stand around this long whos pain is this bad . Absolute joke . Supposed to to be urgent care , I think not

Review titled Really pleased
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I've been pleasantly surprised by my visit at walk in centre. After hours of waiting for 111 call back, I decided to go and get checked. I was greated by a lovely, warm and understanding lady and was assessed by the nurse practitioner within 1h from arrival. Things seem to have improved significantly since my last visit a few years back. Thank you for your service.
