I was shocked at how good my vision had become after my right eye cataract removal. Things in the operating theatre were crystal clear within minutes of the surgery being completed. Twelve weeks later my left eye was operated on and due to new medication that I was on dilating the pupil was difficult, for the surgeon that is. I was made aware of this problem and was offered the option to cancel, but knowing how bad the left eye had become I opted to continue. After this surgery the eye was less comfortable than after the first operation and I left the hospital with a patch over the eye, to be kept on until morning. On removal of the patch my left eye was quite cloudy but it very quickly started to improve and by late afternoon was better than I ever remember it being. Three to four days on and my vision is better than I can ever remember. Any discomfort that I had has gone. I really cannot thank the staff at Newmedica enough. They really are the Bees Knees! I had a cataract removed, and was very apprehensive prior to my operation. All the staff were re-assuring and I was treated very sympathetically.

I went to New Medica for a pre op consultation and immediately felt very comfortable being here , I was made to feel welcome. The day of my surgery followed quickly and again I was put at ease. I was called through where I was asked a few questions and I then had some eye drops applied , three times , I then spoke to the surgeon who was very calming and he explained everything. Shortly after I was taken to theatre where I was greeted by some very nice and helpful nurses , at every stage the surgeon explained what was happening, I felt absolutely nothing and before I knew it the op was over and I went back home . I highly recommend this clinic and all the staff all in all a Good Experience

The cataracta surgery which was supposed to be done today, on 25 September,at Newmedica Gloucestershire, Brighouse, this is a cataract surgery, and in the last minute, with a notice of a few hours, with no prior consultation ,just by phone,they informed me that this surgery is cancelled. I was waited 3 months for this surgery, and they said to wait another month because of the complexity of the operation. I need to have this surgery as soon as possible as I am in the position of loosing my job, which is part time, and I am in the situation to not be able to drive to the job, to not be able to continue to pay my facilities, and to live . I am not supported by nobody, neither from family or to receive benefits, I just need to have this surgery urgently, to permit me to sustain myself working properly, with Healthy Eyes. They condamn me not the dead, being unable to have a job to live. I have send a request to make an intervention to the management team, which, unfortunately, after I have contacted them, they just served me a cliche about my safety, and with no favourable results . They need to contact a specialist to make my surgery and that is imperious necessary immediately, because after a month following the last consultation, my cataract has been expanded, covered my eye, and is visible as a white spot. I am in a dangerous risk to become blind, and waiting another month as per they said is to risky to save my eye, and in this case I need you to support me in my situation.

I was extremely nervous —anything to do with one’s eye is worrying . But everyone at the clinic was great . Surgery was quick and painless . The surgeon was so professional and explained everything . I’ve told all my friends about this great experience .Can’t get over the fact that what I was dreading was a comfortable painless procedure . Thank you everyone at Newmedica

I was very scared at my first cataract op. The staff were all amazing, looked after me with care and consideration. Post operative care instant and available by phone. Followed the rules for post operative self care re drops etc and, amazingly I have proper sight in my left eye, colours and light perfect. Can’t wait for my right eye op to catch up. I’m an artist Potter, So very grateful for this treatment. Thank you all at Newmedica. Hopefully see you again soon for eye 2.

Couldn't be any easier walked in at 8:30am and after filling out the paperwork I went too have my eye treatment started with eye drops,then after that on to the operation where every thing was so clean then walked out the door at 10am and home to rest.If you need cataract surgery go to this company.

The procedure followed was similar to that for the first eye, except the operating table was horizontal rather than with my head tipped slightly downwards. I found in this position it was more difficult for me to hold my head as requested by the surgeon.
