Well structured service. All appointments on time. Well organised surgical procedures. Nice people. Follow up phone call after 24 hrs as promised. What more is there to say.

The pre op staff were really efficient, caring and pleasant and put me totally at ease. I was made to feel very relaxed. It was unfortunate that my actual op was running late because the surgeon had an unexpected emergency to deal with, so there seemed to be a sudden need to ‘get on with this’ when my turn came. The calm ,relaxed atmosphere was replaced with a ‘do this, do that’ one. - lie down, move back, head back, chin up, chin up in what felt like an abrupt manner, and I would have very much appreciated a reassuring word during the procedure! I think that’s so important whatever the circumstances . I came away feeling quite shaken. Nevertheless I am grateful for the opportunity which I and many of my friends are given ,and of the caring and efficient service given by Newmedica. Negative comments are rare here in Gotherington so l will keep these thoughts to myself! Peace be with you.

I have had 2 cataract operations with New Medica at Brighouse Court. The nurses were wonderful, they put me at my ease and explained clearly what the procedure involved at each stage. The operations were quick and Painless. The waiting time between the two operations was not too long . I would recommend Newmedica on my experience. . They were efficient and the premise were very clean and pleasant.

Absolutely appalling practice they never ever answer the phone and you are not allowed to be with the patient even if you are a carer it's ridiculous

Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us. We would agree with you that failure to answer phones isn’t acceptable. Following COVID our service increased beyond the capacity of our phone systems. In the past few months we have invested a considerable amount of money to improve our phone systems, recruited new colleagues and IT to support call answering, tracking missed calls. Now any calls not answered appear to our colleagues on a screen and we expect them to be returned. In terms of carers being with patients during appointments – we are still mindful that providing a safe service, protecting both patients and colleagues from COVID is of paramount concern. We do on occasion allow carers to be with patients where mobility or dementia concerns exist. We hope that all patients, their families and carers will support us in these efforts to maintain Infection Prevention and Control. If you would like to send details to gloucestershire@newmedica.co.uk to us for investigation, we would be pleased to look at the call logs and report back. We would also call you with a view to answer your query. Newmedica is rated GOOD by the CQC and we do report concerns to them. Answering calls promptly is something we take extremely seriously and supporting patients while in our sites is key to us being a Safe, Caring and Responsive provider. I had my second cataract operation recently and found all of the staff professional. It was a friendly relaxed atmosphere and very efficient. I am delighted with the outcome and would recommend Newmedica.

This was my second cataract operation and everything went very smoothly, pleased with the outcome. Everyone was very professional and very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who wishes to have the operation. I also have my glaucoma examined regularly at Newmedica so have been to both sites at the Brighouse and Aspen centres in Gloucester and have been pleased with treatment at both.

I have recently had cataract surgery on both eyes and am very happy with my treatment at Newmedica. Staff are professional, friendly and caring. The atmosphere is calm which helped me to relax. Thank you.

I have had Cataract surgery on both eyes at Brighouse Court Gloucester and I was very impressed with the professional and efficient service I received. The whole procedure from initial assessment to the surgery was seamless. All the staff were very kind and respectful. Thank you all for such wonderful care.
