  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Given an appointment by out of hours GP. Excellent service by the nurse practitioner, correct diagnosis made and medication prescribed. This was after being misdiagnosed by my own GP 5 days previously and being in extreme pain. Highly recommend this service

  2. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I waited for 5 hours to be seen for under 5 minutes. The doctor was passive aggressive and telling me off resulting in me leaving the clinic in tears. I was told there was nothing that they could do to help with knee pain, but I was not informed on this during triage, wasting 5 hours sat there in a lot of pain.

  4. Review titled What is its purposes

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My daughter cut her finger at work, it was bleeding badly. We went to the walk in centre. They adviced us to go to A&E, we didn't think it was that serious, but they said her finger could suffer permanent damage if she didn't go. Sat in A & E, told 5 hour wait doctor's on strike, only for the nurse to put a plaster on it and told to keep it clean and dry and it will heal in about a week. I question what is the walk in for, is it fit for purpose?, Is it causing more strain on A&E? Why couldn't she be treated there?

  5. Review titled Kind helpful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Tear - Posted on 28 June 2023

I attended the Walk-In centre after getting a deep graze on my shin from a fall. Hallamshire Minor Injuries were closing so they recommended going to Northern General Accident and Emergency, but I was nervous to wait that long so I called the Walk-In Centre. They invited me to attend to see if they could help. The staff behind the reception were really kind and told me an honest waiting time. The person who cleaned my graze was so friendly and gentle as it was very painful. He didn't make me feel silly for attending, and told me that it was good to come as he needed to clean the grit out of it. I am very grateful for the kind and helpful staff. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Excellent experience

111 arranged the appointment, this service is priceless, thank you. Huge appreciation to the person who treated me. She was a consummate professional, empathetic, thoroughly reviewed my symptoms and issued a prescription for antibiotics to treat my UTI. The additional advice she gave was both practical and realistic.

  7. Review titled Had an appointment, walk-ins without seen before me

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had an appointment. 1hr later I'd still not been seen. I spoke to the receptionist who said there was 1 person in front of me. 7 people later, I was still waiting. What point is there having appointments if walk-in patients get seen 1st? Also out of hours service is abysmal. There are health centres in most areas, yet patients have to travel a 14 nile round trip to see a doctor. There should be out of hours in a health centre in every district so no-on is more than a few minutes away from a service. NHS has lost my support and confidence.

  8. Review titled Kind and Efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Whilst on holiday in Sheffield, I called at the walk-in centre suffering from cystitis. Within 30 minutes I had left with a prescription for antibiotics and useful advice. I interacted with three members of staff. All were professional, respectful and kind. I came away very impressed with the service.

  9. Review titled Helpful staff but needs a good clean

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The staff and doctors were helpful but the waiting area and toilets (including baby changing facility) were not as clean as should be for a medical facility. There were cobwebs hanging in corners and visible dirt everywhere.

  10. Review titled Unexpectedly great experience at Broad Lane Walk in Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Suffering from a minor infection I visited the clinic today (Saturday morning). The organisation was good, masks were worn by other patients and the clinic seemed fully staffed. (A previous visit, in April 22, they were short staffed due to Covid). I saw a medical practitioner (great guy) who checked the infection and without me having to see a Dr, prescribed antibiotics. Not only did he prescribe, he issued the tablets! Makes absolute sense - no need to go a find a chemist. This is the sort of logic that ought to be applied across the NHS. I was in and out in 38 minutes. (My previous visit took 4 hours, for the same issue). Very grateful for this level of service today. Well done!
