I was down there this morning in the freezing cold, the booking in process is simple and I was seen and out within 20 minutes, everyone there was friendly and this was my first visit but definitely a positive one.

  2. Review titled Very bad system for calling patients

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Fay Rodrigues - Posted on 29 December 2024

I have just spent two and half hours waiting in the NHS Walk-in Centre. It turns out I had been called earlier but despite being on constant alert for my name I did not hear my name. I was feeling very unwell and furious that there is no organized system for calling patients, for example using numbers or calling out names on both sides of a large, noisy space. Or even a noticeboard showing the names of patients being called!!! No complaints about my treatment when I was eventually seen by a very nice and thorough practitioner. But this could be solved very easily and not cause patients unnecessary distress or extended waiting time. Do better Rockingham NHS Walk-in Centre.

  3. Review titled Not listened to

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Just been to the walk in centre. Triaged fairy quickly within an hour by a nice paramedic. Told would be seen by a doctor. Saw a Nurse Practitioner that was rude, talked over me constantly and didn't listen. Touched possibly infected arm with bare hands when asked not to. Didn't want to prescribe antibiotics as not insured to do so as I'm allergic to some. Which I can appreciate but left feeling unlisted to and even more worried as said to go to A&E if had symptoms that I was already describing. Sent me away to see GP tonight. Rang me 30 mins later offering me antibiotics, talking over me again and not listening. Didn't accept as already lost faith as couldn't even take blood test to check if infected and not sure if infection or contact dermatitis. Now I have to see a GP at night who also can't take bloods and probably no pharmacist open at that time to treat me anyway. Really need to sort bedside manner of Nurse Practitioner.

  4. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went into the walk in centre due to my piercing falling down into my ear. I suffer from migraines which this didn’t help as it was putting pressure on the bottom of my ear. I had to sit for 3 hours to be seen and then told I would have to go to the ENT department at the hallamshire tomorrow morning. I have attended the appointment time of 9:30 only to be left still sitting waiting to even be seen. I’ve had no sleep and a horrible migraine from last night as wasn’t able to take my tablets. Honestly discussed with the NHS. Joke really for the amount of tax we pay for them not happy at all. Makes you want to move countries

  6. Review titled The best!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bronny - Posted on 06 October 2024

After seeing doctors in A&E and out of hours GP’s and was still in agony and let down I finally went to the walk in centre as I didn’t want to go back to the A&E and be told to just keep taking strong pain killers, after waiting only an hour and half I was called in by the most amazing prescribing nurse who had more knowledge than any doctor I have seen all week hands down the best medical professional I have met! With in 5 minutes she knew exactly what was wrong (kidney infection) she actually listened to me rather than just assume what was wrong, prescribed me anti biotics and told me what to look out for in case I get worse, and within a day I am finally pain free and on the mend, after being left for over a week in agonising pain and doctors guessing she fixed it within 10 minutes! I highly highly recommend going here all the staff are very friendly and helpful and probably saved me from becoming extremely ill in the long run.

  7. Review titled Unprofessional doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 September 2024

I had an unpleasant experience with the second doctor who saw me today. After my initial screening, I was informed that I would meet with another doctor and undergo some tests. However, after waiting for three long hours, I was shocked by the second doctor's rude and unprofessional behavior. If he was having a tough day, they could have informed me beforehand. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Staff did very little to help or offer advice, it felt as if they just passed me around to various professionals. I wouldn’t bother going back

We visited the walk-in centre early Saturday evening, the staff were great, calmed my daughter down , explained everything to her and myself. Very knowledgeable and compassionate. Thankfully we are not a regular visitor, but when we do go , they are really helpful
