When I was discharged, I realised how much I would miss the staff. Surely, the NHS should copy the SpaMedica methodology Department by Department, starting this year.

Everything went so smoothly, all the staff were very friendly. I could not believe how quick the operation was. I shall be much calmer for the second eye. Thank you everyone for your wonderful care

Excellent service from start to finish.Surgery was performed very quickly following initial assessment. Staff were very friendly and professional put me at ease as I had been worrying about the procedure. The surgeon was brilliant I couldn't have been in safer hands.

the staff was brill ,answered all my worries and keep me calm. I didn't feel a thing. sent me home with a bag of goodies for after care.

It was very quick for referral to happen and all procedure took place within a couple of days from first appointment. I was treat so lovely by every member of staff throughout my two visits. From the man welcoming us by opening the door, the receptionist and then in turn the nurses who made me feel at ease.(I was extremely nervous). The optician answered any questions directly and the surgeon himself was fab. The operation didn't take as long as I expected. The difference to my sight is unbelievable. Highly recommend this clinic. Thank you so much.

Everything was top class from start to finish was made welcome by a lovely polite gentleman on the door and all the staff made me feel at easy operation was quick and the surgeon was very good

From initial referral to cataract operation took 4 weeks.Very professional outfit.All the staff were pleasant,professional & ready to explain any queries or worries that I had.I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone needing treatment to their eyes.Couldn,t have wished for a better experience.

The NHS pays SpaMedica hospitals to deliver cataract surgery. It's cheaper, and much faster. My optometrist in York referred me for such surgery 30th January. My appointment in Doncaster was on 13th February. The surgery was on 17th February. The first assessment was impressive from the moment they opened the doors to welcome my wife and I in. The hospital is exceptionally clean and the staff are trained to perfection. Make no mistake, this is a well-oiled production line that passes you from room to room, each with a nurse, or two, and other professionals to carry out different tests until the the last room where you receive their assessment of your condition, and an appointment if appropriate. If suitable, your receive their easy to understand literature about your surgery. Trust me, when they say you wont experience any pain, its the truth. On 'Surgery day' it's the same fluid production line. Expect to be in their care for up to three hours, but the procedure is about fifteen minutes. Nurses check everything to prepare and reassure you. They mark a cross on your forehead to ensure it is the correct eye. Nothing is left to chance. Then you wait for your turn, with crosswords, sudoku and other puzzles provided, until you meet the Consultant to answer your concerns or questions. Then its all systems go in the calm, cool, operating room where are settled on the bed. When the procedure starts, you see a bright light in the damaged eye, and three dots to focus on. Then, it's a enjoyable, coloured light show for about ten minutes with the only sensation being water gently washing out debris from your eye. Then it's all over, and you are escorted back to the waiting area to be reunited with your chaperone, as long as they didn't head to the Lakeside Shopping Centre ten-minutes drive away, in which case you sit and wait, enjoying the tea, coffee and biscuits until they remember to come and collect you. I wasn't joking when I told the staff, "I enjoyed that" What a Great Place and Experience. Thank you, all.

I was extremely nervous about this procedure, but from the very beginning the staff tried to ally my fears and they were really helpful. The surgeon that did the operation spoke to me before hand and explained what it entailed and also reassured me throughout the operation personally I can’t fault any thing. coffee and biscuits were also supplied for myself and for my husband.
