From the porter to the surgeon everyone was courteous, kind, cheerful, helpful, reassuring, on my pre-op visit and when I went for my cataract operation. Waiting times were minimal, the waiting area was clean, quiet and comfortable.

I did not fully understand the procedure when I attended the surgery appointment but the staff at SpaMedica were exceptional in explaining everything and made me very comfortable. The clinical staff could not have been better and I now have good clear vision. Thank you so much for all at SpaMedica.

Great service from a polite and professional team from first visit to the reception staff to the actual day of procedure, I was made to feel at ease and reassured even though I was somewhat nervous Thank you

Fantastic. The care was extremely good. The nurses and doctors were very kind and knew exactly what they were doing. The whole process went very smoothly and exceeded my expectations.

I had cataract surgery two days ago and found the whole experience with Spamedica staff, welcoming, caring, attentive, informative. They take great care with informing one of what exactly is happening at every stage of treatment, everyone was so kind. The surgeon was especially kind and efficient the whole thing took 5 minutes. I have every confidence in this hospital.

Almost all the staff here were fantastic. They let me know what they were doing at every stage of the process and treated me with respect. The outcome was great. A couple of points: If you're expecting to easily pick up a taxi from the nearest train station, book ahead (Cranbrook train station, Exeter). I nearly missed my assessment appointment because there were no taxis. The literature from Spamedica made it sound like a taxi would be easy - it wasn't. The assessment was brilliantly handled and all of the clinical/technical staff were excellent, measuring my eyes, conducting vision tests etc. The ophthalmologist who dealt with the results of all my tests was brusque and did not appear interested in what I had to say/how my cataracts affected my life. He made a very rapid decision about how to proceed and despite my questioning him several times, would not engage with what I had to say. Consequently, I left the assessment unsure about how to proceed and whether I was doing the right thing. Despite the above, I decided to go ahead with the procedure and although I was nervous, the staff on the day were exceptional and the result for my vision has been excellent. The procedure was quick and painless. The result is fantastic. Can't wait to have the second eye operated on.

I was seen by my optician in late April, who told me I have a cataract a referral was made by the optician and had an assessment carried out by Spa Medica in May and surgery carried out mid June. The care from walking in the door was great, all staff were helpful polite and nothing was too much trouble. If you are going for the first time like did, don’t worry you do not feel a thing and surgery is quite short and you are cared for all the way. All the staff from spa Medica were amazing.
