I recently underwent a cataract operation and had very good care from start to finish. Everyone I spoke with was both pleasant and efficient. The care surpassed my expectations in every way. The outcome of my operation is excellent after only one day!

My mother was seen for her pre assessment only 4 days ago, and today her cataract operation was performed. From the receptionist to consultant she was treated with great respect and kindness. Everything clearly explained and taken at her pace. At almost 91 years she is grateful for the positive experience she has just had.

From the very first appt the staff were very friendly and out me at ease ..answered every question I had with professionalism . I had both eyes done individually within 6 weeks of referral. They are healing very well and my vision is now stunning . I would recommend anyone having cataract surgery to get referred to spamedica.

I thought the whole experience was amazing from the pre assessment to the cataract surgery. All the staff very friendly and helpful making the whole experience a comfortable one. Everything was fully explained and came away with full instructions and guidelines etc

What an experience! All the staff were friendly, kind and efficient, they made me feel comfortable and confident. The whole unit was spotless and pleasant. Thank you everyone.

I have nothing but praise for the Exeter clinic when I recently went to have my cataracts done. The first eye was done in July and the cheery greeting of the reception staff, the full explanations of the nursing staff and the care and understanding of the theatre staff made a quite apprehensive patient into a reassured one. This is also true of my second cataract procedure in September. A very good experience all round.

My first op in July was simply a breeze, however the second left me feeling traumatised. Different surgeons. I was left waiting, after the dilation pellet was put in my eye, for over two hours; no explanation was offered. When I should have been the next person to go in for surgery someone else went before me - no explanation. The op was really uncomfortable; I had lots of cold water running down my face and ear and settling beneath my head - so I was in a pool of water. The first lens failed, I gather and the process had to be repeated - I'm sure this happens but an explanation would have been useful. The whole operation seemed to take forever and was really painful - staring at extremely bright lighting with the back of one's head in cold water was an experience I shall not be repeating - thank goodness it was my second eye. Having written the above, I do want to thank all the staff who were,without exception, on each of my five visits, (I developed rebound uveitis hence an extra appointment) highly professional, friendly, efficient and polite.

The whole experience for both my cataract pre op and surgery was excellent. Everything was well organised and thorough with clear explanations throughout.
