To say I was very frightened about having my cataract operation is an understatement but everyone at Spa medica did everything to put me at ease. The whole procedure was totally painless and I will not have the same fear when I go for my 2nd one. Thank you to everyone there.

Everyone, receptionist,nurses & surgeon were helpful,, friendly & put you at ease. The procedure was very short, maybe 10 minutes, & pain free with plenty of post op information. Have written this review 15 minutes after completion which is testimony as to how straightforward everything is. Profound thanks to everyone.

They say that if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is, so I must admit to having been rather wary when my optician suggested SpaMedica Leeds would do my cataract surgery within weeks and do it well. But having read the reviews here it all sounded positive, so I decided to give them a go. Definitely the right decision! Although the pre-op assessment left me feeling a little nervous because of some anomalies with my eyes, I needn't have worried. The surgery itself was quick and straightforward - exactly as decribed in the comprehensive booklet you are given - and I was discharged within 90 minutes of arrival, complete with all the information and products required for post-op care. The staff, premises and equipment are all first-rate, and 2 days after the op I can see clearly and have no pain in my eye (that disappeared after about 18 hours). As somebody else has remarked, this is how the NHS should be. My only slight niggle is that I was given a card inviting me to leave a review for what turned out to be their Bradford hospital! It took a few minutes searching to ensure I credited the correct hospital.

After a capsulotomy on one eye on 14 October at the Hull site, they were unable to treat the other eye until 8 December. Immediately after the laser treatment I started with nausea, dizziness, balance issues and headaches, so after 4 days of this I phoned your general number to ask for help and advice. I was offered an appointment to have the other eye treated at the Leeds site for the next day - amazing. The service there was outstanding, particularly as I was only booked in the previous day. Happy, friendly, efficient, professional staff, in and out within an hour, and for the first time in 2 years I could see clearly with both eyes, and the debilitating symptoms were gone. I can start living again now, thanks to Spa Medica. Thank you so much. Please can this review be passed to the staff.

Having had both cataracts done recently I would highly recommended spa medica. It was a very efficient service and I was able to book both appointments around my diary. I was fairly nervous on the day but was made to feel as relaxed as possible. The surgery itself is so quick it’s not half as bad as you imagine it will be. My recovery has been very quick and I’m really appreciating being able to see clearly without glasses.

I approached the removal of the Cataract on my right eye feeling calm and full of confidence. The operation on my left eye, carried out 6 weeks earlier had been very comfortable and successful. Going into theatre I had no fears at all. The staff were all caring and helpful, as they had been at the first operation, and I felt full of trust and confidence. Now 6 weeks later I have had my final checkup with my optician and find that my vision is much improved. In fact I am driving again. I am extremely grateful to the caring staff and the skilfull surgeons of Spamedica and would very highly recommend their services.
