Have now had both eyes done , and cannot congratulate this service enough for their quick , efficient , professional service. Every step of the way explained , great care taken ensuring you fully understand the procedure about to be undertaken. Which is not only painless , but carried out in perfect clinical conditions by experienced surgeons . As I might say are all the staff from beginning to completion where you receive an informative booklet and medication. I would think a lot of strain taken off of NHS.

After having cataract operations on both eyes with only a couple of weeks waiting time between referral and the operations, I was very pleasantly surprised The clinic was spotlessly clean and modern. The Staff were friendly, caring and efficient, The "throughput" of patients was amazing. The procedure itself was painless, took only a matter of minutes and carried out by a Surgeon and team who took great care to explain what was being done and put the patient at ease. All in all the whole experience was " remarkable ". .

Cataract surgery, organised with a minimum waiting time. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Procedure painless and immediately showing great improvement. Thanks!

The whole experience was outstanding from beginning to end. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. The nurses were knowledgeable and kind the atmosphere was calm and the practice was clean and fresh. Every step was explained in a clear way that was easy to understand. The surgeon was approachable yet still extremely professional and highly skilled. Before being discharged every step of the recovery process was clearly explained in a gentle and friendly way that made it easy to process. It was the best medical experience I have ever had and I would happily recommend SpaMedica to anyone.

Today I have had my second cataract operation at Spa medica Newark & I must say the staff & surgeon were highly professional & made my operations trouble free & painless, I would definitely recommend this practice to all needing this treatment.

What a pleasant experience! Not an expression normally connected with medical procedures. The actual building was light, airy and up to date. The Staff were happy, pleasant and immediately had a calming influence on me. All the tests and actual surgical procedure were explained in layman's terms, with everything being carried out with the utmost calm and confidence. I would recommend Spa Medica to friends and family without hesitation.

went in for pre-op on the Wednesday - was offered cancellation appointment for surgery for the following day! All of the staff were very kind and caring from start to finish, making sure all was OK. From referral by optician to surgery at SpaMedica took 5 weeks.

All very efficient Very friendly Great service One thing that might prove helpful to others: my greatest fear was having to use eye drops which I find difficult due to my arthritis. It would have been useful at the initial consultation to be told I could have an injection that meant I didn’t need to worry about this at all. I did not have this information until the day of the surgery.

Good welcome from Reception on arrival for assessment, drinks offered. The manner of the staff at the two initial two eye assessments (i.e. first room entered for eye examination with equipment, followed by a second room for reading test and drops inserted) were businesslike to the extent that they were somewhat curt and brusque, not helpful for patients who may be nervous. In contrast, the nurse seen next and the opthalmologist seen finally at the assessment were friendly, welcoming and took time to answer queries. My husband was present and independently reflected my own views, plus other patients mentioned they had similar experiences. Some staff training may be required to ensure patients' initial impressions are more favourable. All staff seen on the day of the actual operation were kind, caring and helpful - I witnessed one very nervous patient being comforted by a nurse.
