The whole experience was smooth and efficient. The first nurse explained fully what would happen, the wait was fairly long but understandable and in comfortable surroundings. The surgeon explained what he would do and the nurse was with me constantly and reassured me. All was over quickly and I felt well enough to leave immediately. Many thanks to everyone.

From the moment you arrive at SpaMedica Southampton your treatment is first class. Every detail of your treatment is explained and you are made to feel comfortable and relaxed. I was very impressed. Thank you.

Spamedica Southampton were very efficient. Their safety procedures were extensive and very reassuring. Their staff were welcoming and very empathetic. Their responses were quick which reduced the time I had to worry. They allayed every anxiety. My operation was executed smoothly and effectively. The information I was given helped enormously and by the next day I felt back to normal. Apart from the fact my eyesight had improved significantly. The whole team at SpaMedia excelled at their job. Sadly, my second procedure at Spamedica, Southampton was completely different to the first one I had, just prior to Christmas 2024. Naming my two surgeons "Chalk" & "Cheese" would be rather appropriate. My first procedure was completely painless, to the point where I didn't know I'd actually had it done. The procedure I had yesterday was at the other end of the pain scale. Sensations of 'tugging', 'pulling' and real discomfort would be an understatement. The extra eye drops added, did little to alleviate the feelings. If I'd had this experience the first time, I'm not sure I'd have had the second cataract done.

Have just had my 2nd cataract surgery completed, after having my first one done in January. As again, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service from all staff at SpaMedica Southampton. I honestly felt like a very valued patient, even though I was there under NHS and not private. Everything went perfectly and painlessly, and my recovery is progressing smoothly. The difference in my vision is amazing! The clarity, the brightness, the colours....it's a whole new world.....and the whole operation is so quick and painless. I thoroughly recommend SpaMedica Southampton to everyone. Many thanks to every member of staff who made my visits so enjoyable.

I am an old lady who has waited over 10 years for my cataracts to be ripe enough to be removed. Now at the age of 82 yrs my dream has become reality. My first operation booked by my opticians was performed on Monday January 13th 2025 at SpaMedica in Stoneham Lane, Southampton. It was amazing! I noticed the difference almost immediately. From viewing the world through a heavy cloud to suddenly seeing clearly and being very aware of my suroundings.Then after another four weeks of regular eye drops to aid the healing processed I finally had my second operation, because only then would I be able to have another eye test to up date my presciption lenses. My final operation then took place on Wednesday February 26th. I thought the effect of my first operation was so good, how ever the next day after the second operation when I removed the plastic protection cover I could hardly believe my eyes. My 20 20 vision was so clear. I only wish I had been able to have them earlier. The staff were wonderful. The Operation was pain free. The only problem was my over active eye lids which I found very differcult to controll . I would be very happy to answer any questions regarding my experience.

My wife had cataract surgery very recently and we found the service excellent , all the staff were friendly and helpful and it was carried out with very little discomfort.She will have to have the other eye operated on soon, and we will be happy to return,well knowing that she will be in safe and skilled hands. Thanks to all who were so kind.

My referral was made 21/12/2024, Spamedica rang me 24/12/2024 and my initial appointment was made for 28/12/2024 Referral to appointment in 1 week, and that was over the Christmas week! Plenty of parking, beautifully clean and every single member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Appt time was kept to. Detailed information was given before each test was done and I was made fully at ease. Surgery appointment was made for 10/01/2025 so the waiting time from referral to surgery was 13 days (over Christmas and New Year period too) Exactly same experience at 2nd visit. Surgery took place at 4.30 and was a strange feeling but completely painless. I was worried about seeing hands/instruments coming towards my eyes but saw nothing except the lights. My eye felt gritty, and was a bit watery, as expected, over the early hours but by 8.00 am this was all cleared. Colours so much brighter, no blurriness and I could see small print again (even though my new lens was for long distance!!! Did not like wearing the eye shield as it seemed to collect "condensation" and I had to keep drying my eyelid and the shield. Discarded it at 6am and everything improved rapidly. So today, I am completely pain-free and seeing everything clear and bright!!! Cannot wait to have my other eye done. Many thanks to everyone at SpaMedica Southampton.....it was a complete pleasure from start to finish.

The experience at SpaMedica Southampton was made pleasant by the modern facility and friendly staff. It may be worrying for some people but it really went very well. Much less unpleasant than a trip to the dentist.
