I had cataract surgery just one week after having an eye test. The practice seemed very well run and efficient but after almost 4 months the vision in my right eye has not improved. I had a follow up eye test and was told I may need laser eye surgery sometime this year. I was surprised when I had the surgery that it took only about 7 or 8 minutes as my wife said hers took at least 20 minutes at a different practice. I was expecting great things but alas it wasn't to be. The only thing that is different is that colours are more vibrant

Having had a disappointing experience with another cataract implant clinic in Leeds, I am very pleased with the treatment I’ve had from SpaMedica in Wakefield. I do have to say I have noticed that there is a slight amount of “starburst” effect but am hoping that this is due to the implant still settling in from surgery, 2 weeks ago and that this will improve with time.

Within days of my optician's referral I received a phone call inviting me to the pre-surgery assessment. I could have attended on the day of the call but was given a range of options to fit in with my transport. The assessment was organised very efficiently and over in an hour followed by an appointment for the op. just a few days later. The operation was painless and over quickly. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and professional and explained everything very well. As a retired medical professional, I cannot recommend them too highly and await my second eye op with total confidence. This NHS partnership shows health care at its best

The team and consultants at SpaMedica Wakefield have been nothing short of superb. They have been exceptionally friendly, informative, and empathetic in addressing any pre-operative concerns I had. Since my surgery, I feel like I'm experiencing a whole new world with greatly improved vision – the best it has been in many years. I want to express my gratitude for the swift and efficient process, from my initial referral to the first pre-operative appointment within just 5 working days, followed by the cataract operation within 2 working days thereafter. I highly recommend their services, and I sincerely thank them for their outstanding care.
