    I found the experience haveing my cataracts done was done with great care and professionalism,the entire staff go the extra mile to make sure and concerns are fully explained. The entire staff are a credit to your company

    In contrast to my earlier surgery in March 2022, which was superb in every particular, this second procedure was chaotic organizationally, 1. The literature led me to believe that the second operation would follow within 6-10 weeks of the first. After 12 weeks, having heard nothing, I rang. A vague date of early July was given to me. 2. I rang again and was given 8th. July at 10am as the appointment time. Transport would collect me between 7 and 9am. 3. A few days beforehand, having received no written confirmation of the above, nor any of the associated literature, I rang yet again. I was told that the literature had been posted on 23rd. June, but I had not received it. 4. An assistant promised to email the appointment letter at least, but when it arrived, it was "encrypted". As a result I could neither print it nor even read it on screen. 5. As the operation was only two days away, and I had no written proof and had not received the pre-op medical call, I rang once more mentioning the possibility of an official written complaint. 6. Within half an hour, I had received three 'phone calls and a readable email. 7. The day before the operation I waited for a call confirming a more exact time for transport to arrive. At 4.40 pm, I rang and was told the call or a text would come between 5 and 7 pm. or a message would be left. I pointed out that I could not receive texts and that my voice mail did not function, but that I could receive emails if necessary. 8. Although I sat by the 'phone, no call came. At 7.20pm I rang again but found only an emergency facility in operation. I was advised to ring back at 8am (even though the transport could arrive as early as 7am). 9. Transport arrived at about 8.30 am with only 10 seconds prior warning. The driver believed he had left a message on voice mail, even though I had told the receptionist this was not possible. 10. The medical and surgical procedures went well, though I was given a second set of eye drops which I had not received following my first operation. No explanation was offered and I had to telephone for the umpteenth time to seek clarification. It was hard to believe I was dealing with the same company as previously. It is extremely irritating when telephone reception staff keep repeating the meaningless phrase 'no problem', when the patient clearly has a problem.

    I was extremely apprehensive about having cataract surgery and couldn't imagine having surgery on my eye while I was conscious. I need not have worried - from the first visit to my operation appointment I was extremely impressed with the smooth running of this clinic. Everyone is obviously trained to put you at ease and every step of the procedure was explained. The operation itself took about ten minutes and was totally painless, the only thing you are aware of is a 'dancing' light which you follow with your eye. Recovery has been trouble free with slight irritation on the first day and sensitivity to light for a few further days but I am delighted with the result. I certainly would not hesitate to have the other eye done if necessary.

    Every thing i had done was explained to me, prior to treatment starting. Staff 1st class everyone in the building was of comfort to people who were worried about treatment.

    All the staff were pleasant and helpful. The reception staff on my first visit were a bit off hand which didn't help as I was so nervous. On the day of the op itself everyone was lovely though I wish the surgeon would just have said he had finished before he ran off to get his sandwich box. The op itself was a strange experience and quite nerve-wracking as I didn't know what was going to happen next but over very quickly. I would recommend Spa Medica to people but explain to them what the op entails. I am delighted with the outcome as my sight is much improved.
