Review titled Bad experience.
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I am over 60, I fell at home and thought I had strained my wrist however it got worse and I cannot use my left hand. I used NHS 111 online who told me to contact my GP. My GP's surgery told me to contact St. George's to make an appointment, I did and was told there was no need to make an appointment as it is a walk in centre, just to come in. I ordered a taxi as I cannot drive due to my injury. On arrival at the reception desk I was immediately told they were not seeing anyone else today as they are too busy (this was at about 1.30pm). I was given a list of places I could go which were all miles away, the only one in Leeds is the LGI A&E Department. I had hesitated going there as I do not consider my injury as life threatening. It has cost me £27 in taxis (which I cannot really afford) and I still have a painful hand and wrist that I cannot use. I am so angry, what is the point in trying to do the right thing?

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carol Andrea Brooking - Posted on 02 March 2025
I would like to thank the desk staff who explained the process and how many hours wait so I was prepared to wait my turn patiently .The 2 Nurses who prepared my prescription due to allergies to antibiotics was very well discussed with me .I left with strict information of who to contact if it does not clear up within 5 days .Plus to referral back to Orthopedics at pinderfields .Thankyou for the medication and treated with respect .

Review titled Great experience of the service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Katherine Burdall - Posted on 28 December 2024
Unfortunately had cause to attend on Christmas Day night, all the staff we had contact with were patient, professional and kind. Given it was Christmas Day and nearly home time, no one made us feel like we were a nuisance. The reception staff and the nurse were great and the Doctor was so kind and really helped sort out the problem. Thank you

Review titled Longest wait of your life!
Rated 1 star out of 5

Terrible, took my lad for a small health issue and 3 Hours later still waiting to be seen, would honestly be better watching a dodgy Youtube video and fixing your own health issues than coming here.

Review titled Blistered legs girl.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Charlotte Canham - Posted on 25 July 2024
I came to St George’s on the 24/07/2024 with badly sunburnt legs which had massive blisters on the front the wait was a little bit long but once seen by a lady she was lovely she put up with me begging not to touch me as my Legs were so sore she assured me that once she had popped the blisters and wrapped them I’d feel much better after about half an hour of me being difficult and refusing I eventually let her she was lovely and she was really gentle the whole time I was getting the blisters popped and the skin removed she then wrapped them and sent me on my way. Then today my legs leaked so I rang back and spoke to the same lady on the phone and she said come Straight back and we will redress them so I headed back down today and ended up getting more blisters removed and more skin removed that had grown somewhat overnight. I just want to say that you’ve been amazing and thank you so much for persevering and dealing with me over the last two days! You genuinely deserve a medal!! I will be back Monday for another redressing!!

Review titled Poorly run

It appears that the management of the centre still believe it to be a minor injuries unit not an urgent treatment centre so there was only one illness nurse to four injury nurses.

Review titled Unbelievably rude reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ann Moore - Posted on 27 June 2024
Arrived at 8:30 with a broken hand. 5 people in front of me. 2 hours later & told would still be 2 or 3 hours to be seen. It’s the NHS & expected a wait. However the reception staff are the most rude people I have ever met. I asked very politely regarding wait time & was told in a very unfriendly manner that “ you’re just gonna have to wait”. Words cannot express the expression on the ladies face or the manner in which she spoke. Would never go here again & would rather clog up the a&e

Waiting time 4 hours but felt reassured after x-ray and recommended aftercare. Staff working under pressure but still time to give appropriate advice on aftercare.
