Review titled Infected foot ulcer
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2024
I have visited the Walk In Centre in Widnes twice for a new dressing 2 weeks apart for an infected foot ulcer. There was a wait on both occasions after Triage which is expected and both times advised to go to A&E as still infected. I wasn't aware of the infection. I have had a big toe off but could have been worse if not told to go. A big thank you to the staff.

Review titled Waiting times
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Dave - Posted on 21 July 2024
The waiting times are a joke, waited for 3 hours to be told to go the hospital, as they don't deal with the type of injury I had. Utterly useless don't know why they even bothered to build the place

Review titled Great experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attend the walk in centre after my GP was unable to offer an appointment. From first contact with reception staff to the discussion with the nurse led clinical staff the experience was exemplary. I was assessed diagnosed and had my prescribed medication all within 20. minutes. Thank you

Review titled Outstanding
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the Walk-In Centre yesterday with a urine infection. I checked in with reception by a super nice lady who couldn’t have been more helpful. The waiting area was almost standing room only with a wide range of patients from mums with toddlers to older patients (and everything in between). After about 10 minutes I was called by the triage nurse…again loverly young and professional. After this basic assessment I took my seat again in the waiting area and basically just watched the comings and goings of people. Less than an hour later I was called by a lady doctor who again assessed me but in more detail. Vitals were checked, BP, Pulse and Body Temp and other necessary personal information was gone into. I then had my chest and tummy examined and all was clear thank goodness. Soon after and following a water sample test my condition was quickly diagnosed and the appropriate medication was prescribed. This is a very quick walk through of my experience yesterday and in summary I found the whole thing “outstanding” special mention to the wonderful doctor who was quite exceptional in her manner, knowledge and professionalism. Also worth mentioning….this experience was set against (I think what could be a high stress environment for the staff) so to finish I am so grateful for the level of kindness and professionalism demonstrated today. Thank you all for reading. xx

Review titled Great staff but terrible waiting times
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Went today waited 5 hours to be seen in the freezing cold waiting room, however once seen couldn’t have asked for a nicer more genuine and empathetic nurse, such a shame they are under valued.

Review titled Lovely doctor, triage nurses not so much.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Holly - Posted on 01 December 2023
My 2 1/2 year old little boy was seen in triage (has a perforated ear drum) he was not happy when they had to take his temp rightly so as he was in pain, the nurses had to wear masks so he was probably a little bit frightened. After this I was asked if he has any problems because his behaviour is unusual. This isn’t very nice to assume about someone especially a child who is clearly unwell and has two strangers wanting to take his observations when he most likely didn’t understand what was going on, he had missed his nap too. I did not appreciate being told his behaviour was “unusual” and the wording should be used different and not to assume. The other triage nurse advised me a lot of children do not like that part.

Review titled So rude
Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely awful, so rude. Rang 111 and they advised to go here for an insect bite that was inflamed. Triage nurse didn't even look at the area just said its normal (even the 111 doctor didn't seem to think so) and just blamed the pharmacist when I said they advised to seek medical help if it spread and she said they send everyone here- it wasn't even them that advised us to go to the centre it was a doctor. Feeling rather fobbed off with a 15yr old in pain.
