  1. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely shocking service received at Yate Minor Injury unit today. My daughter had injured her knee and could barely walk and was in tears with pain. The consultant had such a lack of empathy and didn’t believe that she couldn’t put weight on it. Waited 5 hours to be told nothing they could do and sent us off with a leaflet. Most people we noticed had been sent with a leaflet. Never ever go there again, will go straight to A &E.

I waited an hour and a half to see a nurse you may need an x-ray but this was not available so had to go to A and E what is the point if the staff etc are not there!!

  3. Review titled Absolutely awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Went into the centre with extreme pain in my left knee. Couldn’t walk into the centre on my own. Went into triage within 30 mins of arriving. Then was left for 5 hours waiting to be seen. I was then told that they couldn’t do anything about it, don’t do x rays for the knee and should go to a&e. Extremely disappointed, rude nurses and receptionists was awful and joking around. Never again

  5. Review titled Incredibly rude encounter with nurse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 June 2024

My child woke up with swollen eyes and what looked like hives after returning from abroad. I was very concerned. Before visiting the walk in centre, I checked the website and it appeared that these symptoms could have been treated there I.e it could have been from an insect bite, which apparently is treated at the centre. The receptionist was pleasant and I did state that I wasn’t sure if the walk in centre was the right place but I wanted to check before going to the hospital/calling 111. A nurse then came out to speak to me in what I can only describe as extremely confrontational. She did not let me explain my child’s symptoms and told me to stop talking as they could not treat him there. She was more concerned that I didn’t seem to understand the meaning of the word ‘injury’ than the well-being of my child and proceeded to argue with me about what ‘injury’ covered. At no point did she express any sort of empathy or concern for my child who was clearly unwell, and was extremely haughty when I said I hadn’t checked is temperature although I did explain he didn’t feel hot so it appeared to me he didn’t have one. All was required was a simple ‘I’m sorry, we don’t treat those symptoms here, you need to call 111’. If staff are so angered to this extent by patients turning up with the wrong symptoms, then please make your website clearer because not everyone has medical expertise and is able to navigate the nhs system without support.

  6. Review titled Child not seen for more than 4 hours

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tamzen - Posted on 01 May 2024

Triaged in 15. Then left for more than 5 hours without being seen. Had to leave in The end as unable to stay due to lack of food and water and children at home.

Speedy service. Extremely lovely Nurse Practitioner saw me. Made me feel like a person and not a number. Very thorough with my examination and explained the issue I had from my symptoms.

  9. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Great modern facility, very welcoming and friendly receptionists. I was triaged almost immediately and Xrayed within 10 minutes. I was seen by a very efficient doctor who examined me and reviewed the Xrays. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the whole process. Full marks to the Unit and the NHS.

  10. Review titled amazing help

Receptionist was really lovely and helpful. I was seen with close to no waiting time at all. Three lovely ladies helped me sort out an infected and stuck piercing. I couldn’t be more happy and grateful.
