Get really stressed at the dentist due to previous experience but this dentist calms me although stillshake after attending

Mine was an emergency appointment as I’d lost half a tooth. While checking the rest she found a hole in a double back tooth that had to be extracted, I was very nervous but she gave me confidence to have done.

Frances appears to be very thorough and actually used a mirror to show me what I needed to improve on - much better than just explaining the issue. Listened to my concerns and gave advice.

Was able to get an appointment on the NHS when I was in pain with toothache, put my mind at ease and was sent away with a plan in case the tooth got any worse

Staff polite. Only problem was seats. So few of them now and so close together you are physically touching other people. This wants a rethink.

No previous information from past appointments on file. The check up highlighted a dark shade from grinding so mouth guard required and filling needed. The dentist booked these appointments without discussing it first , then when she did discuss it told me £150 for guard and £65 for filling which obviously is a lot of money so then made me cancel the appointments myself at reception. This is pushy selling working on the guests fears and pain threshold, as to highlight the importance of a shield the dentist stuck a sharp hook into my gum and pressed on it before telling me the pain was because of receding gums. This is disgusting customer service from a trusted professional, my £26.50 appointment was 10mins long and X-rays taken were used again to highlight that I needed a gum shield to stop grinding my teeth. I had told the dentist that I had no issues with my teeth and felt obliged to tell her I had £26 in my account . She kept giving me a mirror to hold to highlight the issues again before letting me off the dentist chair. I am concerned that this service is being taught to trainees in the room as in retail it is highly frowned on and close to bullying / con artist tactics which again is disgusting . On the plus side your reception team are so lovely and you’re very lucky to have them, but obviously is not what was told to my friends and family due to treatment from Dentist being so bad.

I was given an emergency apt the day I called. The dentist explained everything clearly to me and when she was carrying out the procedure she again w opined everything she was doing. She was very calm and put me at my ease.
