As a veteran who served for long periods of time in the Middle East, I was subjected to sun damage to my skin. Having previously suffered from basal cell carcinoma’s BCC I am aware of suspicious marks or eruptions on my face and shoulders. One had quickly appeared and I called the Acorn at 0930hrs to seek support in inspecting the mark. As usual, the Receptionist was charming and efficient by offering me an urgent appointment later the same morning, which I gratefully accepted. At 1130 hours a GP Doctor saw me and indicated she would refer me for specialist consultation. The same afternoon, the GP Dr called me to inform me that she had arranged a Consultation at a local hospital 4 days later. This was an example of the outstanding personal dedicated support that the Acorn and their exceptional staff provide. Thank you. And as the General Practices are the ones that are responsible directly and initially for our health, why do I continually read that they are struggling to survive? Getting GPs fully financed, staffed and equipped will be the catalyst that relieves pressure further up the NHS chain; hospitals. For me, seeing it in action speaks louder than the many words.

I had an appointment about my hip as I suffer arthritis in most of joints I done a diagnostic test which dr said she was very sure it was also arthritis and said after a few questions was sent to x ray up local hospital this dr was very kind and reassuring and explained all my worries to do with my arthritis

Due to a serious illness, the past year has been, both physically and emotionally, extremely difficult for myself and my partner. The team have been Steadfast in their genuine care and much needed support. Their 'Can do' response to enquiries and requests for help have have resulted in them providing a caring, effective and supportive response. The joint efforts of All Staff at the Acorn Surgery have made an un-measurabley positive impact and provided a light in a very dark tunnel and I am extremely grateful to them all. Thank you.

Went through a cancer scare which was terrifying Thankfully i didnt have cancer but throughout the whole experience the Doctor dealing with me was really caring and kind He really listened to my worries and concerns

I was speaking to the receptionist, making an appointment regarding a lump on my back. A doctor was immediately available and I was examined carefully. I was already surprised by the speed of response. I was referred for a scan and then a follow up MRI. At all times I was contacted directly by the doctor who was thorough and provided informative information. This is one of many positive experiences I have had at the surgery. The pharmacy is excellent. Yes, there are queues but the pharmacists communicate consistently and frequently go out of their was to assist. Receptionists are very human and organisation of designated Flu or COVID vaccination clinics is exceptional. I'm blown away by the support and care provided by Acorn Surgery. It is a world away from my experiences in the London area where I previously lived. Thank you.

I have been a patient at Acorn for 23 years. On my recent annual review of BP, weight, routine bloods etc I mentioned that I also had a concern about recent stomach upsets which was causing me some anxious moments. The HCA recognised my concern and advised submitting a specimen for investigation. I felt relieved that I had been able to talk to someone instead of just putting up with a problem which was not getting better. Thank you Leni.

I was told by the receptionist to go and see the Pharmacist on a Friday for my problem. I was seen by a really busy pharmacist, thought i would be in and out. He took his time and listened. I was more concious of the people waiting for him than he was. He was so polite and so utterly brilliant with the way he treated me i was wowed! When i asked him who trained him, because they need a well done, he replied the team at the Acorn surgery. So thank you Acorn Surgery! The Pharmacist is thoroughly a gentleman with skills that we in oxmoor really need. I read with sadness Pharmacies are closing, and for the sake of the local population i just pray this is not one of them. I just wanted to thank Acorn Surgery for their services and pharmacist for his work. Thank You
