    Finally saw a doctor face to face. Not the usual practice doctors and he was the best I have seen in the last 4-5 years.

    I've had some excellent telephone appointments where my GP has been clear and helpful. I've also had an extraordinary face to face treatment with a practice nurse/phlebotomist who skilfully took blood when I suffer from severe haemotophobia. Receptionists are a credit to the practice.

    I had a very serious and life threatening ailment and have been very impressed with how the practice, persisted in getting me appointments with relevant consultants, who arranged speedy scans, biopsies and eventually appropriate treatment. Without their very professional approach to my health issues and persistence on following up, I would not have had the urgent treatment I needed.

    The care I have received by the doctors here has been good. They listen and are very thorough. Unfortunately, getting an appointment is nearly impossible for people who work. I work in a school which means the hours for telephone appointments are always when I’m in class. I’m told we can’t have a face to face appointment unless there’s a telephone call first. I’ve had a few health concerns that I haven’t chased up, simply because of the hassle of booking appointments. The reception staff can often come across as rude and unhelpful.

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your 3 star rating and positive review of the care you have received from the doctors. I am saddened to hear that you have had some troubles with the timings of the telephone appointments that we off, we offer these telephone appointments on a same day urgent basis as well as a pre-booked routine basis. We do advised that the telephone calls in the morning are usually between 09:00 - 13:00 and for the afternoon 14:00 - 18:30 however we are always able to pass the message through to the member of staff that you are booked with to try and call at a specific time due to work or other commitments, I do apologise that this was not offered to you at the time of your booking. The information that you have been provided regarding a face to face is also not correct, at this time we are able to offer patients a face to face appointment with the team at a patients request. During the pandemic / lockdown period we were reducing the footfall in the practice and a lot of the calls were triaged by a clinician and then they would arrange a face to face appointment if a physical assessment / appointment was required, however we offered face to face appointments throughout the lockdown period and are still continuing to do so as we are coming out of the pandemic period. I am also saddened to hear that you have found the reception team rude and unhelpful, this is not acceptable. We have had some new members of staff recently employed that have been in training but this is most definitely not acceptable behaviour. We have already fed this back to the reception team and they have taken this learning on board. Please do accept our apologies for the negative experience that you have faced.
