  2. Review titled attention to detail

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The superlative service and support I received from the start to when I saw health care assistant in October was excellent. I felt I mattered. She was really good, empathetic listened to me and provided me with care which avoided the hospital visit. I had gastric bypass 10 years ago, never knew I have to be on vitamin b12 injections for rest of my life.I discussed my symptoms with her. She look back in my health record. She was very attentive and gave me peace of mind with advice about the importance of B12 injections. She also did one injection on same day ,provided the blood test. She went out to discuss with GP. I was there for my foot check. I only mentioned brain fog and she asked many questions ,look back in my records. She went out of her ways to offer help. I saw her again today. I hope she is not going leave this practice. I recommend Aurora Medcare ,the Healthcare Professionals do a fantastic job. I was very impressed.

After having High Blood Pressure problems recently I returned to the Surgery on 24 Jan for an ECG scan. Thankfully the readings were Normal. My Systolic reading has gone down from 194 to 140 since 16 Jan I am now only waiting for a Cardiac Scan and results from my Blood Tests The Nurse explained that we haven't yet found the reason for the High BP so I will need to continue taking 5mg Amlodipine and I will have my BP measured again in 2 week's time at the Surgery. Once again, I am very Grateful for the Help and Kindness I have received from everyone involved.

I See a GP due to being really chesty with flu symptoms was given antibiotics and feeling better, the GP I was reviewed by was fantastic they was ill themselves as could hear it in their voice but they still get up and go to work to help their patients, thank you. I would defo recommend this practice to friends and family as all staff are great and the GPs go above and beyond.

Dear Glynis, I am sorry your son had difficulty obtaining an appointment. You may be aware in recent days there has been an increase of cases of Strep A which has caused great pressure on our services as symptoms are similar to a common cold which has led to great anxiety in our patients. We have created additional appointments to assist with the increase of demand and are prioritising children and the most vulnerable. I note you contacted 111 who then booked your son for an appointment on our system and he was consulted by our GP. We have daily protected appointments on our system which only 111 can book. Please note, 111, the HUB, the walk in centres, the community pharmacist are all extensions of our service. We work as part of an extended NHS providing services. We are doing the best we can to accommodate winter pressures despite our own clinical team falling ill. Your understanding would be greatly appreciated. Kamal Manager

  9. Review titled Bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

This practice never has appointments. I rang today regarding an appointment for my dad who's come from A&E and was told to follow up with GP. I rang at 8 couldn't get through. I kept trying and trying only to get a voicemail at 8:15 that all appointments are fully booked. I rang again at 9:30 to try speak to someone I was put in a queue, once I reached number 1 got a message that the receptionist is on another call and I should call back later. There's only 1 member on the receptionist team who goes above and beyond. The days she's not there the whole practice is a shambles. I'm honestly so annoyed as this is not an isolated incident. It happens everyday. For someone with serious health issues it could be as if they are being neglected.

Dear Patient, I am sorry you have had issues obtaining an appointment. We are working closely with our telecoms to try to cope with the demand during our peak times. As you may be aware the surgery is under enormous pressure during this winter with demand for service very high. We are extending all our clinics due to the high levels of sickness. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Awful practice - avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2022

I've had nothing but awful experiences with this practice. I've recently been diagnosed with long covid and have been trying to get help with this since April 2022. I first asked for a referral to a fatigue clinic, this took months of phone calls and chasing only for it to be done incorrectly 2 times. When I was finally seen by an external fatigue clinic they wrote to my GP to ask them to refer me to a long covid clinic. Again, the practice failed to do this and I had to chase on 4 separate occasions before they did anything with this. They only did something when I wrote a complaint to the surgery, before this, nothing. I'm now chasing them for an extension to my sick note but it's impossible to get through to them on the phone and then when you do they are rude. They always tell you what you're doing is wrong and you should make an appointment or they can't find your details. My condition makes doing things like this difficult and this practice only exacerbates my condition. I have to chase them to do things only for them to do it wrong. It's impossible to get an appointment. I'm often cut off when I get to the front of the call queue. I've been told to use their 'e-consult' service which is where you can send a message directly to the doctor for things like sick notes and prescriptions but this is ignored too. Unfortunately, I'm forced to use this practice as there are no alternatives I can reasonably travel to. If you have the choice, avoid them, you'll be better off for it.

Dear Patient, I am sorry you have had cause to complain. We are urgently looking into the issues you have raised. Our telecoms are working on solutions and investigating causes of lines dropping. We have contacted the econsult service to investigate why we did not receive your consultation request after we could not find your econsult on the system. Our GP has made contact with you to explain the prior tests you required in order to obtain your sick note and this has been issued to you following your consultation. Your comments regarding reception staff will be discussed at our upcoming staff meeting for quality improvement. If you would like any further clarification or assistance please do contact me the practice manager Kamal.
