I was ‘in and out’ of the Surgery before my appointment time! Very fast, efficient but friendly service.

  2. Review titled Exceptional Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by David Lloyd-Jones - Posted on 26 March 2024

I appreciate, certainly in the news and social media the standard jokes about getting an appointment. For me fter being unwell over the weekend, I called in and pressed for a call back to hold my place in the queue. It is busy so called about 6 times to get to the voice message. I understand this is not in there control so was happy to redial. Received a call back at about 10 o'clock and went through my symptoms. Was offered an appointment at 4.30. Arrived and was seen promptly by a great doctor, who referred me for a scan and proscribed antibiotics. The next day received a call from Oxford booking me in for a scan on Bank holiday Monday. Personally I could not ask for anymore and just wanted to express my gratitude to all staff at the Banbury Health centre. We all know it is sadly sometimes a thankless task dealing with us the public but I am sure many are grateful for all you do

Dear David Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind review. I am delighted to note that you made good use of the callback service and received a call at 10am and were then seen that same day by a GP who prescribed you medication and referred you on for further tests. We are very grateful for your expression of gratitude – it is a pleasure to care for all our patients. Kindest regards and thanks Jennifer Nichols Practice Manager

I'm over 80 and not very technical. Today I tried to make an appointment with the surgery, along with the majority of society the surgery thinks everyone is familiar with technology. I think more help for those not technical should be shown.

Dear Bill I appreciate your comments about technology and agree that not everybody is able to access the practice in the same way. Please do explain to our call handling staff that you are not very technical and they should always help you work around this. I will also remind the team of this too. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Kindest thanks Jennifer Nichols Practice Manager

Would be nice to know, whom your GP is? Ran to much like a business than a caring health provider. When I make an appointment, it is on a day and time that suits me, I do not want it changed.

Dear Johanna Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry to note your comments. Please get in touch with us directly so we can help you with details of who your GP is, add you to their waitlist if necessary and guide you on the appointment system. There are very few instances in which an appointment time and day may have to be changed, but when this does happen it is usually because of unplanned sickness. Thank you for your understanding in this regard. Kindest thanks Jennifer Nichols Practice Manager

  6. Review titled A bit of a wait but I got there

Third time lucky getting to speak to a GP. Took 9 days. Outcome was very satisfactory with good conversation with GP.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. If you were added to a waiting list to speak to a GP about a routine problem then 9 days sounds about what we are working too currently. Patients with an on the day acute need obviously can see a clinician sooner, but this may not be with a GP of their choice. I am glad your outcome was satisfactory and that you had a good conversation with the GP – great to note. Kindest thanks again. Jennifer Nichols Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Impersonal experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I rang with a couple of concerns, don’t tend to need the surgery a lot. Felt very dismissed by the receptionist, but she agreed a call by an on call doctor over the weekend. That doctor (based elsewhere) was great and they updated my notes and recommended a blood test). Booked blood test online, results came through online and via text, only mentioning one part of the results. The rest of them are listed as results on patient access, but no offer to discuss them or explain what they mean, had to use google. Now don’t know what to do next and whether I should have different tests done, symptoms not explained or offers of treatment for them?! Feel like if I ring again I’ll be dismissed again.

  8. Review titled Highly Successful Appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Fred Riches - Posted on 23 February 2024

Within the allotted time the GP managed to review progress since my previous appointment on one issue, run through a test to reassure me on another and prescribe me something appropriate for a third. A highly successful appointment!

  9. Review titled Frustrated

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Rachel Crump - Posted on 02 February 2024

Very difficult way of making the appointment. Can’t reach via the phone and not clear or possible to make appointments on the app. I managed somehow to make the appointment (don’t know how) but from that point got a fantastic service. Shame that most people fail at the first hurdle. Need to have the surgery more accessible.please I don’t visit the doctors very often but when I needed it I found it very difficult.

  10. Review titled Appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 20 February 2024

Can’t fault the service on the 3rd time of booking within the 3weeks. Previous bookings made online,3rd actually has a call and a doctor appointment was made Only at this point I learned that my previous appointments were not with a doctor but a nurse practitioner. Was not impressed at all. If I wanted a nurse I would have booked one. So got 2 prescriptions of which I shouldn’t of had(if I was a patient that pays for them I’ll be very upset as I would of paid £20 for meds I didn’t need)

Dear Rachel We always try and ensure patients are booked are with the most appropriate clinician. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly skilled and able to deal with a number of issues. If you want to be booked with a GP for a routine appointment then we do operate a wait list you can join. If, however, you have an acute on the day need to see a clinician then you will be triaged to the most appropriate available clinician at that time. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners are fully supported by a dedicated GP all day to help with any issues that may arise. I am sorry to note that you feel let down. If you would like us to investigate the matter fully then do contact us directly and we will happily do this for you.
