My experience with the practice was of the highest respect and efficiency, in every way I was put at ease by my amazing doctor, who also very quickly arranged the relevent tests To allow us to proceed to a diagnoses and treatment. Thank you

  4. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2024

I was in Cornwall on holiday and ended up in Accident & Emergency on Sunday evening with heart problems. I was told by Accident & Emergency that I needed an urgent cardiology appointment, so whilst still in Accident & Emergency I contacted the surgery via their website to explain what had happened requesting an urgent GP appointment on the Tuesday (as I was travelling back from Cornwall on the Monday) so that the GP could then refer me to a Cardiologist. The GP surgery texted me on the Monday asking that I send them a copy of my discharge summary, which I photographed and texted back. On the Tuesday morning at 08.00hrs, I received a phone call from the GP surgery to say that the GP had already referred me to a Cardiologist, but wanted some more bloods taken. I was offered me an appointment that day. When the results came through the GP surgery texted me to let me know the results, including the abnormal ones. I became concerned that notification of a cardiology appointment was taking longer than expected, so contacted them again on-line. They followed this up for me, phoning me to assure me that they had looked into it and I would be seen - shortly after which I received a cardiology appointment. Following my Cardiology appointment I was sent a request to make a follow up appointment with a GP. Excellent, responsive and proactive service and all done electronically - the only thing I had to go into the surgery for was a blood test. The rest was done remotely. I can't rate them highly enough.

Need physical appointment and can't get anywhere with reception sent me to a link to book to end up confused as had no idea which appointment thing I needed ended up booking a blood test when no needed and ending up asking for a sick note no idea how it all works no explanation and no help mental health was bad before this experience and has gone down hill rapidly I wanted one appointment about my foot because I can't stand and walk around all day at work while in significant pain and normal pain killers aren't touching it and no help offered just go to website and book clearly hasn't worked for me when I'm having to go round all of the houses to even try and book and getting it wrong so no help and nothing done about it

  6. Review titled Deliberately Obstructive Processes?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Robert Drake - Posted on 31 October 2024

Banbury Cross Health Centre make it as difficult as possible for patients to contact the person who can help them. If you can face navigating the specific times on the telephone system to speak to medically unqualified staff, they will then ask highly intrusive questions to see if your issue warrants a doctor calling you, which they may or may not do. If they do, you may then be lucky enough to actually see a doctor, face-to-face. Needless to say, I do all I can to avoid this stress and only contact the surgery when I absolutely have to. Today was one of those days. Earlier this year, I’d arranged a Men’s Health Check. I’m nearly 60, so this seemed like a good idea, particularly to get my prostate checked. However, I found that the prostate check is no longer part of that process. Instead, it requires a specific appointment. So after a telephone consultation with the doctor, he agreed that I should have a blood test followed by a face-to-face appointment. I had the blood test today and then, following the advice of the nurse, I went to make the follow-up appointment at the desk. The receptionist apologised but said I wouldn’t be able to make an appointment there; instead, I would have to telephone. Even though I’m standing right in front of her. I accept that having patients must be an inconvenience to a doctors’ surgery in the same way that customers at a restaurant are probably quite annoying. And recognising this, I do all that I can to avoid bothering them. I eat well and take plenty of exercise. I’ve become quite proficient at setting broken bones and preparing herbal remedies and poultices. But sometimes, I have no choice but to see a doctor. This is one of those times. Does the surgery really need to make it so complicated? Or is it by design?

  7. Review titled We are just uncared for numbers

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Renata - Posted on 10 October 2024

I do not recommend this surgery. We are told we have to go into a special room to take our own blood pressure. The staff members I spoke to were offhand and barely lifted their eyes from their computers to acknowledge me. As for a smile? Nope.

Dear Patient, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review. I am happy to note that when you got your appointment, the service was good which is what we strive to provide at all times. We are a training practice so have a number of Doctors who move on post-training. We also have to manage retirement and GPs moving on to pastures new. Rest assured that if your designated GP leaves, you will be allocated a new named GP. Please do ask . You can also leave feedback on our Friends and Family test https://www.banburycrosshealthcentre.co.uk/friends-family-test Kindest regards and thanks James Business Support Manager on behalf of the Practice BCHC
