  1. Review titled Professional response

Rated 4 stars out of 5

From reception to nurse to GP a friendly and professional response. It can be a long wait to speak to a health professional after an e-consult but a good standard of care after initial consultation.

  2. Review titled Good practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had a Diabetic review recently. Although it was after a while to get sorted from the original 'date', that was given. Nurse very attentive, helpful and gave me some useful websites to look at. Much appreciated. Things have 'changed' as from pre-Covid times. Many Thanks...

I was contacted on the day I was told I would ( all be it 10 days from original econsult) I was given an appointment for later that day and the Dr was efficient, helpful and informative. I am now awaiting the tests she has suggested. Very good service

  4. Review titled A GP who listens and service that has improved

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Charlotte Dawe - Posted on 10 July 2024

I have been impressed recently with how the medication ordering system and contact with myself has improved. It used to be very chaotic and not joined up but in the lady year I feel it has improved. I am also impressed with the GP, who actually listens to me and doesn't make me feel like I'm wasting her time and always checks things out rather than trying to make out that they know absolutely everything when it's impossible to do so in a constantly changing field. She is an asset to your team. I now feel like I'm a partner in my healthcare rather than a number.

I had an appointment with one of the nurses. She was kind and caring and explained everything that would happen within my appointment. A very professional nurse who showed care and understanding to her patient.

  7. Review titled Frustrating Experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Narrisa - Posted on 08 August 2024

I made an appointment using e-consult which is frustrating in itself as you can never put your correct symptoms down to get through to get an appointment. I finally got the usual response of waiting up to 48 hours for confirmation. An appointment was made for me while on holiday so I asked if this could be changed. Luckily a doctor rang me back and made an appointment for the following week which although was a long wait I appreciated. I saw the doctor and the consultation was finalised. The following week I had a call which tried twice while I was in Cyprus. Not recognising the number I thought I had better ring it back to find out it was the surgery. My son then called me to say the doctor had rang the house phone also. I did not hang on the call as I was caller 10. I asked my son to go down to the surgery to find out what was going on as I was now worried. Receptionist said there had been no calls made as there was nothing on the system. My son told me and I asked to get passed over to her to discuss as she was obviously wrong. Again she said nobody had called and they wouldn’t ring 3 times anyway and definitely wouldn’t ring me abroad. 1 I am not a liar and 2 they didn’t know I was abroad. I left it there as I was on holiday and was frustrated enough. About 30 minutes later a doctor rings me again and asks what he can do for me. I was astonished as I had already had my appointment. He was apologetic but I just felt annoyed that I wasn’t believed and then again had a call when someone else could have had that slot. It takes a long time to get an appointment without errors like this. This is not the first time I have been told that what I was saying was wrong by the Receptionist.

  8. Review titled Timely response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Suffering from a chest infection whilst away. I contacted Beacon and within a few hours the critical response team (?) contacted me. Listening carefully to my symptoms, answering questions about my Asthma and responded by ordering a prescription to be ready upon my return to Ivybridge.

It's not always that easy to see your GP but I think that it's the same with all practices, but I did not have any problem with the way I was treated. My doctor was was very patient with me and helped me with my problem

  10. Review titled Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Susan Lassan - Posted on 10 July 2024

I did an econsult to confirm things with my GP. I had to wait too weeks for a phone call. When the call came it wasn't with my GP so I now have to wait another two weeks. I was going to discuss my new medication which I couldn't do. Sent an email to confirm meds are OK only to be told I have to do another econsult just to do this. The econsult isn't good because every reply books you off to seek urgent medical attention, therefore every response has to underplay condition. If you do seek medical attention they tell you to contact your GP.
