    Rang at 8 o clock and and by nine someone was at a relative's house. Very knowledgable and understanding and patient.

    I filled in form for phone call. Received acknowledgement via email. Received call from nurse within time stated. Very thorough and polite. Prescription being sent to my local pharmacy. Very much appreciated, thank you.

    I have over the last two days tried to leave an online request for a non urgent appointment as well as a request for a non repeat prescription. I wanted to do it this way to avoid the long wait in phoning and to make it easier for the surgery. There online service is not accepting any new messages at the moment to help them cope with volume. Does this not now force me to phone and only add to their pressure? Bizarre and very irritating.

    Dear David, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to respond to you direct. We genuinely sorry that you have found difficulties contacting us for your enquiry. On the day you specifically mentioned we had no choice but to cut off requests via our website due to the sheer volume we had received. We raised this to our CCG on the day and agreed the action as a safety cut off so that patients were either postponed to a service that can support, or indeed encouraged to wait a few days if it isn't urgent. We do understand and completely appreciate the frustration this causes our patients, however we have to consider the patients already 'waiting' in the queue to ensure that their needs are triaged and responded to asap. If this happens again and you need to be attended to urgently then please call the surgery - if it is non-urgent, please try again later. What this means is that we have reached an agreed safety capacity for patient appointments and availability of our staff. Kind regards, BMC
