On arrival I was made to feel very welcome. The doctor saw me dead on time for my appionment, The doctor I saw was very thorough with my examination and explained my situation very clearly, he even took the time to listen to my second problem and organised an x Ray for me. I came away very happy with the overall experience.

The GP I saw seemed uninterested in my problem, he hardly made any comments, did not examine me in any way, my consultation was very brief and with no empathy at all.

Attended for blood test, long queue at reception, link to check in at on my text did not work but prompted to use self check in portal. Called in very promptly.

Nurse very helpful and friendly. Said my BMI needed to come down a little but no suggestions on what to do. I eat healthy already and exercise.

My routine screening was made much less stressful by the friendly nurse and reception team. I don’t have cause to use the surgery a lot but every experience I have had has been a positive one.

I did an e-consult on Wednesday morning which I had a response to that afternoon. I was advised to contact the surgery to make a face to face appointment which I did and was booked in for the next day. I arrived at the centre 7 minutes before my appointment and was seen bang on time. My GP consultation was was direct and quick. Extremely happy with the service, absolutely faultless.

Went in for a puff test today what a though examination, everything was well explained and the nurse that was in charge of the examination was so friendly and put me at ease.

I find the receptionist very hostile and difficult to deal with, they lack empathy. This is not just me I have waiting in a small queue, to watch them being very cold and unhelpful. I have been there where they have turned away people clearly stressed when leaving, not rude or abusive, just upset and with no appointment. I have no issues with the doctors or nurses, they are excellent, but do find it very stressful myself when I know I need a doctors advise, where I have to go through the receptionist. On line works really well, but sometimes I and people want to see a doctor. I think you will find lots of people feel this way. I know when I talk to people about the receptionist at blackthorn the are all feeling the same . Please if you doubt this get someone to listen and watch when the receptionist don’t know!
