Review titled Much better access to services
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jennifer Hollis - Posted on 07 July 2023
I would like to say that services for me have improved so much. As most reviews there are a lot of negative ones. I always make my feelings known if I am unhappy and always text the practice manager and my problems were resolved. I have have many instances of good and improved practices recently. I have been able to access an appointment and been surprised that there was an appointment available. I like the reduced info when you first ring to get speak to a receptionist. I like the call back option and the advice to keep dailing. My interaction with the pharmacists are a bit hit and miss, sometimes I get really good helpful advice but sometimes I leave after a fruitless conversation and it makes me very upset. Sometimes they are sometimes so kind and other times seem to be obstructive, But perhaps there are operational reasons for the difficult outcome. All in all I am glad To say the service has improved and for my part I am always treated well when dealing with the receptionists. Just one more thing I am not the easiest person to deal with sometimes and I am aware of that. Being a receptionist must be a thankless task sometimes.

Review titled Virtually impossible to get an appointment

It took 40 minutes and 59 times re-dialing just to to the receptionist. Got a telephone appointment with the doctor for the "afternoon". I haven't been contacted.

Review titled No meds
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2023
So, knowing my medication takes a week or more to arrive, and needing to make an appointment to speak to a GP to change the dose of this new medication as per a previous visit, I called up and was astounded by the rude receptionist refusing to let me book an appointment because my meds wouldn't run out for another week. Explaining that it's a brand new product on the market, not yet stocked and that my meds are sent by post, meaning it takes a week to get them had no effect whatsoever. The outcome? I had to wait a week, get an appointment, get my prescription changed, order meds and am still waiting on them, a week later, as I tried to explain. So now I have to go through all the side effects again, on a higher dose, because the receptionist there thinks she's a doctor and I've had to be without those meds for a week. This for a new product on the market, which specifically starts on a low dose due to the horrible side effects, so your body can get used to them as the dose is gradually increased. All wasted because of a rude woman who thinks she knows better than the doctors at the surgery. She is obviously not the right person for the job.

Review titled Unprofessional. Dangerous and beyond a joke!
Rated 1 star out of 5

I'm an insulin dependent diabetic and because I have been prescribed a certain insulin that they have to order in every time, I'm treated terribly. I've been left without insulin four times in the last three months or so. The last time I explained I would run out over a weekend but went to collect the prescription and guess what? The dispensary hadn't bothered getting the doctor to sign off the prescription! They expected me to go all weekend and the Mon and Tues with no insulin. I then asked the pharmacy what effect that will have on my health and he told me to ask 111 for an emergency prescription. Luckily he had a few of the insulin pens I needed from last time. its not the Doctors, not the reception but the dispensary that let this place down constantly. They are going to kill someone soon if they haven't already. I know I'm not the only who's meds are messed up as my auntie has cancer and they are constantly messing her around too. These people are ment to be 'health care providers' yet they can't provide adequate health care. Its hard enough struggling with chronic illnesses, chronic pain without an ounce of support from the people who are supposed to care for us. I know this doesn't go on at other surgeries as my mum is at a different surgery and unfortunately suffers with many chronic illnesses and she is treated with respect and care. Never having to go without her insulin. Something is seriously wrong here and it needs sorting before something goes seriously wrong.
