  1. Review titled Terrible service and system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 February 2023

After experiencing acute and continual coughing and difficulty breathing/shortness of breath that came on suddenly and has persisted for the last 2 days, I called first thing on Monday morning to make an appointment. After waiting 50 minutes on hold, the receptionist told me to call back at mid-day and asked if I'd been to a pharmacy. Having difficulty breathing and what feels like the start of pneumonia does not feel like a job for a pharmacy - hence my call to the GP clinic. I don't understand why I now have to face another long phone queue to simply make an appointment when I was already speaking to them earlier. Being given the excuse 'Mondays are always busy' simply isn't good enough.

  2. Review titled Receptionists chewing gum

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Carmen B - Posted on 20 December 2022

The two receptionists-ladies-were chewing gum loudly ,with full open mouth when speaking with patients and one of them even making bubbles(the lady with glasses),both lady’s over 40 years old ,should know better, very disrespectful! The sound of someone chewing or smacking gum can be annoying, but for some people, these noises trigger instant rage or panic. This is not just an eccentricity. It is a real condition, and it's called misophonia.

  3. Review titled Rude female admin staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 December 2022

I rang to book appointment. The female staff has been so rude and insensitive towards me. Even laughed about me whilst I was in great distress asking for help. She said she couldn't email my sick note so had to come to the surgery. I was not well and went to the surgery in snow weather, then another make staff said they could send it by email and he did. Today again called them to book appointment in early morning and the same female staff with low voice said they have no appointment. It's been many days like that. Not enough econsult available either. The female staff refused to tell me her name. Refused me to talk another staff and manager. I rang again then the phone connected but they cut off me. This surgery....the level of the admin staff has been extremely poor and mindless to me. Also I would say all the booking system has been causing so much harm to patients including me unable to be seen by doctors. I wonder why the top of the surgery is not seeing this points.

  4. Review titled Rude admin staff over the phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 December 2022

I would like to complain about the service I have been receiving but I can't because the admin staff won't let me talk to their manager. They just cut off the phone instead. Here I can see the surgery's response saying to get back to the management to talk further, but that is impossible as even asking for that has never been impossible to reach a person who deal with the complaints. I wonder if this surgery really has practice manager...The management staff should know the reality of how bad and rude the telephone admin staff has been. They are really damaging patients mentally.

  5. Review titled Disappointing and chaotic

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Maya Georgieva - Posted on 16 November 2022

I have sympathy for NHS staff. However, the feeling I get each time I am unwell or have an issue and have to approach my GP, is one of despair and anxiety. This is due to a number of things and mostly it feels like being in a "survival race" from start to finish. Firstly, it takes minimum 20 - 30 minutes to get through on the phone lines even if you ring at 8:00 sharp. I have even been number 36 on the line and waited 40 min to get cut off. Then the first answer I get almost always is "there are no appointments", ring at 12 pm. In the past 25 years, I can count on one hand the times when I have been offered an appointment without any pushing or arguing on my part. Whenever, I am brave enough to argue for one urgent or not, I get given a phone consultation on the same day, and recently so. To receive your forms for any referrals or tests - one needs to physically go to the surgery - these cannot be emailed or sent via any of the contemporary methods of communication either to the patient or to the hospital directly. A paper needs to be picked up form the GP carried around to the hospital. Moreover, almost each time when collecting the forms the reception staff spend at least 20 min looking for them, wondering what type of treatment it is and checking at least 4 different filing piles at reception. Not sure why 4 different filing piles of paper are needed for a blood test in one NHS servicing unit, but also why there are no notes on my record to direct reception where to look for my forms. I also always think to myself - wouldn't it be much easier to write notes on my records and keep all forms on the computer, and once I appear at reception, the reception staff could print them there and then for me? Sounds logical to me and that's what I would have done if I'd been in charge of this unit. But I am not. Then comes getting the forms correct by the doctor to the hospital's satisfaction. I only have 1.5 days holiday left for the year and 1 day was wasted trying to obtain the forms for a blood test and Xray, then go to the hospital only to find out the forms were incorrect because the 2nd page did not contain patient's name and Id No, so I have to go back to the surgery to get these corrected and book another day off to visit the hospital. And at this stage after another 4-5 attempts to get through to the surgery, the receptionist tried to convince me to tell the phlebotomist that the forms were correct and do not need changing. Because she put the phone down quickly without waiting for me to complete the conversation, I had to ring again to ask kindly (for fear of losing connection again and more of my non-existent free time) if the amended forms could be emailed to me. The answer was not audible but sounded something like "we cannot email..." Mostly I resort to google and self-treatments as I have no strength to deal with the GP. I keep thinking to myself that if I was performing like that at my job - I would be unemployed a long time ago.

Since moving to London in 2006, I consider myself fortunate to have been registered with the Bounds Green Group Practice My partner and I have both experienced the highest standard of Care possible in the NHS, from the attentive reception, to the diligent administration and amazing GPs I felt compelled to leave this review as most will only use this forum to complain but sometimes, you just need to tell people how much their commitment to the community is appreciated. Thank you so much for being there for us

  8. Review titled Steadily become worse over the years

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2022

It has been virtually impossible to get an appointment with a GP, get an online appointment or be on hold for less than 30 minutes (today being a case in point where I have been on hold for 23 minutes now, trying to get through for an appointment. Some of us are in jobs where you are not allowed to have a phone out during working hours, so it has been extremely difficult. I have not seen a GP in person for almost a year now. I know we have had the pandemic and things have been challenging for everyone, however I do not hear other friends and family having the same level of difficulty trying to get through to their surgeries for a simple appointment. It's beyond disappointing and I wonder if someone were in a very serious condition and alone, what they would happen. It's beyond shoddy.

  9. Review titled Really excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Katharine Hudson - Posted on 12 September 2022

I am fortunate to have been registered with this practice for several years and every time I have seen a doctor the consultation has been detailed and effective. I can almost always get an appointment the same morning I contact the surgery. I am immensely grateful to the doctors, nurses and reception staff for their care and support.
