Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2023
While having tried my own surgery with no success, l used this practice as a walk in service. Welcoming reception staff although l knew l would have to wait but at least l would be seen, very good diagnosis and prescription provided. Will definitely use again.

Review titled Really good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Good service and didn’t wait long . Doctors do them job quicker but sure . Giving clear advice what to do next . It was really helpful for emergency service. If I did go A&E I would wait at least 5 hour . That is why I’m happy with the service .

Review titled Great service given the pressure they're under
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was a walk in patient today after a pharmacist told me I needed antibiotics and this was the closest practice to my workplace. The reception staff were professional and friendly, the waiting room was full, I was told it would be a 1.5 hour wait, but two emergency cases then came in so it was closer to 2 hours. The GP was kind, patient, good humoured and took their time to examine me before writing a prescription. Given the pressure the NHS is under, and the fact they deal with a lot of sick and vulnerable people, I cannot praise them enough.

I needed a repeat prescription because my condition had not healed, but I had very little time. I was seen, assessed and prescribed for in less than 2 hours.

I've used this service three times since I've lived in Brighton and couldn't get a GP appointment. I've always been seen fairly quickly, and got the care I needed

Review titled It was alright
Rated 4 stars out of 5

It’s good for emergencies if you can’t go to your GP surgery on that day which is why I went there with my partner there supporting me. Generally it was alright, the only thing is that you have to wait to be seen (depending on day) as it’s a walk in practice so you may not be seen straight away so expect to wait. I waited for an hour to be seen for my injury on the day I went and when I got seen, it was a very short one minute appointment if I can even call it that with a doctor and then it was goodbye. It’s dependent on the injury of course but they do like to keep things moving which is good from the people waiting’s perspective as it means more people are seen and they’re trying to get through to as many people as possible. But from a personal perspective my appointment session was a little rushed and would’ve maybe liked them to have done few more checks on my injury before quickly saying the appointment was done and opening the door to imply that we had to leave quickly sort of thing which is fine for normal people but as someone with autism it was quite a lot to process with all my surroundings and everything like that so the whole situation felt a bit rushed. I do recommend people who are neurodivergent to go there it is okay (tolerable) but I wouldn’t of gone with without someone with me because I would’ve felt too nervous to go by myself as the vibe in general was a bit of a weird one as people are going in for general and for sexual check ups/walk in sessions so the atmosphere is unpredictable. When I got there I didn’t feel immediately welcome by staff they seemed a bit like they’d had enough of the day already. They weren’t rude but you could tell they were just trying to tolerate all the people there on that specific day and they’d seen it all sort of thing.

Reception staff calm and friendly. Clinical staff friendly and helpful. The only problem was the two-hour wait, as other people have also mentioned. I am grateful to have been dealt with so well. Thanks!

Although the wait was a few hours I was very happy with the doctor and the fact that I was able to see them. I would recommend this clinic

Review titled Great staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Considering the amount of patients crossing those doors everyday and the pressure the staff is under. The staff is very welcoming and the doctors take the time to listen to the patients. Great to also be seen by doctors that are used to babies and get them distracted whilst they are getting examined.

Review titled Very Helpful
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ian Low - Posted on 07 October 2023
I had a very bad rash on my upper torso and contacted my own GP twice, they refused to see me face to face and prescribed some steroid cream which made no difference at all. I got to the walk in centre just as they opened at 8am and everyone was so helpful. I think it is so sad that our own GP cannot be borrowed to see us, but the staff at the walk on centre are so under pressure and they are willing to help. Thank you
