  1. Review titled Excellent service as usual

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ian Brown - Posted on 05 April 2024

Today I had the most helpful & understanding interaction with the receptionist that took my query about the new medication I have been given via the hospital cardiologist. She went out of her way to address the shortfall of my medication & returned the call to assure me of the progress & outcome. Very helpful and very informative. Thank you all at bpmp.

  2. Review titled Lake of male doctors or medical practitioners

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ms smith - Posted on 16 April 2024

I rang the practice this morning on behalf of my husband and asked to make an appointment with a male doctor. I was told that there would not be one in the surgery until next Monday .I then asked if there was a male medical practitioner .,again the answer was no . There are sometimes for personal reasons the need for a male doctor. My husband now has an appointment next Monday which I consider as very disappointing.

Thank you for your comment and we apologise for the delay in responding. We do have a female heavy team among our clinicians and admin staff. We are not alone in the world of general practice to face this issue. We do however ensure there is provision with a male doctor when requested and preferred and we are glad you were offered this option within a routine appointment time frame. If a male doctor is preferred we have several ways to provide this: 1) one of our regular locum doctors is male 2) we have had 4 GP trainee male doctors over the last 3 years (so more men are coming through the system) 3) we are part of a primary care network of GP practices (11 other practices in our network) and we have access to male doctors in that network through our hub appointments. If you require an urgent appointment we would advise you to contact us to discuss the available options. Thank you again for the feedback, we are always looking for ways to improve. Kind regards Brunswick park medical practice

  3. Review titled Difficult for patient to excess Gp appointments or advice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 January 2024

The surgery needs the support of Cqc to help identify and correct the failings of the surgery and management plan that is in place . Many of the same team are in place as were prior to covid , so it seems the surgery could get back to at least a pre Covid provision , with basically a change of mindset and consideration of the needs of patients . There is a place for econsult but it is not the appropriate provision for every patients needs . So back to some pre planned appointments ,etc etc would be helpful. With the current system far too many patients are attending a&e inappropriate as they can’t get access to a Gp appointment. When I have dropped into the surgery during surgery hours , I have never seen more that two patients in the waiting area. I believe there is a team of at least 4 fte Doctors employed . We know they are busy but patient consultation is part of their contract I should think . So lets hope we see a better service to the patients in 2024 whilst ensuring the Dr. Fulfil their duty to the patients and they also have good working conditions.

Dear Patient, Apologies for the long delay in responding. Thank you for your review - we take all feedback and complaints seriously and aim to do what we can to learn from the comments and improve services. We have had a hybrid method of booking appointments for a number of years now: 1) via an online consultation - econsult 2) calling and booking via the reception team if availability is there We have different types of appointments available 1) on the day appointments for urgent queries - we have a daily duty doctor (face to face or telephone format) 2) pre booked appointments (2 weeks ahead max) for follow up appointments or for routine appointments (face to face or telephone format) 3) planned clinics - eg for blood tests, smear tests, chronic disease reviews, baby immunisations, post natal checks etc. etc. (most of these are face to face) The data over the last few years since the pandemic has shown that general practice is the one part of the NHS system that has actually increased capacity since the pandemic - this was a press release from November 2023, close to the time you submitted your concern: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/fifty-million-more-gp-appointments-delivered-by-the-nhs Please note that even if the waiting room is empty there is plenty of hidden work that general practice performs behind the scenes, from issuing 600-700 repeat prescriptions per week, reviewing 300-400 documents per week, triaging 800-900 econsults per month, and our reception staff taking 5500-6000 calls per month, to name a few of our tasks. We hope you have received a better service in 2024 for your needs than your previous experience. Please keep the feedback coming so we can continue to improve where needed. If you want a more detailed conversation, please contact our management team via reception. If you are interested, we are also always looking for new members to join our Patient Participation Group (PPG) as we work hand in hand with this valuable group to improve communication to our patients and services for our patients. Everytime I tried to book for GP online, it says, my maximum appointment has been used. By who. I have no idea. My record shows date 20th Nov 23. I haven't seen anyone. My hospital appointment dates are included as Gp appointment. Can someone explain. Please. When did I last time saw someone face to face. How did I use my maximum appointments. I am confused.

Dear Javida Lodhi, Apologies for the long delay in responding. Thank you for your review - we take all feedback and complaints seriously and aim to do what we can to learn from what happened and improve services. In order to make sure all patients have more equitable access to booking appointments via direct online booking, this was capped at 1 appointment each month. We have several ways to book appointments - the main ways are via online consultations (econsult) or to call and speak to our receptionist staff. We also have direct access bookable appointments and you may receive a text with a self-book link to make an appointment. If you want anymore information about this or have continued to have problems with your online access, please speak to one of our digital champions at reception. Please keep the feedback coming so we can continue to improve where needed. Kind regards Brunswick park medical practice

  5. Review titled Poor service and organisation

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 November 2023

I had initially called Brunswick Park Medical practise to get a doctors note for a long standing condition I have that was causing me complications. When getting through to the receptionist, they seemed as though they did not care about the nature of my call because I got the impression they were trying to get me off of the phone. This was because no matter what I needed help with, the answer was always to 'do an e-consult'. This was simply not applicable because all the receptionist had to do was read the notes left by the doctor that would mention what they needed to do and it would have given them the answers. When I mentioned this to them, they would kiss their teeth as if it was a task to answer my queries. This seems to be a theme whenever I have to contact my GP, which makes dealing with my condition very difficult.

Apologies for the long delay in responding. Thank you for your review - we take all feedback and complaints seriously and aim to do what we can to learn from what happened and improve services. We apologise that you felt that signposting you to an econsult was not applicable to your circumstances and we have been working hard over the last year to build on the training we give our front line reception staff in dealing with the 1000s of queries that come their way. We want to make sure that our patients with long term conditions are looked after and a long term conditions service was launched in October 2023 and we have been adapting our services to be more proactive with reviews of certain conditions. if you want anymore information about this, please contact the management team via reception. Please keep the feedback coming so we can continue to improve where needed. Kind regards Brunswick park medical practice

  6. Review titled Superb Response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jeremy Shotts - Posted on 06 October 2023

Some potentially troubling symptoms following recent heart surgery. The GP assigned was extremely understanding and diligent in investigating and considering all the potential causes. She was reassuring and provided sensible options for applying the precautionary principle in case a bacterial infection was involved. I felt both reassured and supported in being given options depending on whether symptoms improved or worsened. Could not recommend more highly. Exemplary GP service.

  8. Review titled Great band caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Solvig Krause - Posted on 03 October 2023

I had to make an emergency appointment following a week’s diarrhea and bad abdominal pain . The doctor I had seen took more time and care I have seen and experienced in many many years . She really took time to investigate and even rang my surgeon following an endoscopy to exclude any post procedure problems . I felt in very good hands and after recommending to go straight to A & E which I did, the pain was seen to immediately after receiving various intravenous drips. I felt like a new person in the morning again. Generally when I call in , there is always a friendly voice on the other site of the phone . I now changed my surgery 3 x within a year but confident, I have found the perfect surgery practice for me .

  9. Review titled Absolute joke of a practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mehran - Posted on 22 August 2023

This practice has been the worse ever practice I have ever signed up for. I sent an image of my acne as requested and they never even called me back until I called them two days later when the doctor should have called me, this is not patient centered care at all. When I then got my antibiotics, the dose is incorrect. I’ve called again and then it took me ages to even clarify if the dose is correct

Apologies for the delay in responding to this review. We apologise if a response to your clinical query via econsult was delayed. We endeavour to let patients know the outcome of the triage by the end of the next working day. We get over 600 econsults per month and do achieve this for most of them. We hope your prescription query was resolved and if you remain a registered patient any subsequent encounters have been better for you. Please contact our management team via reception if you want to discuss anything further. Kind regards Brunswick park medical practice

  10. Review titled Impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by H Tyrimos - Posted on 18 August 2023

I must say that I’m very impressed with the appointment system at the practice - submitted econsult and had response promptly and appt the same same. All we hear is GP appts difficult to get but I can honestly say on multiple occasions the econsults for my family have been dealt with very promptly and efficiently. Always feel doctors are thorough and caring. I’ve been with the practice fir many years and very happy with the whole service.
