    Last December (‘23) I emailed the practice manager outlining my concerns regarding an incident that occurred during a visit to the practice. I explained that while depressing the pump dispenser of the hand sanitiser at the entrance of the building the gel squirted directly into my eye. I immediately informed the reception staff before going into the bathroom to rinse my eye. On returning the staff neither checked if I was alright, nor enquired whether I needed assistance. More importantly I wasn’t offered an apology. My eye had become increasingly uncomfortable so I approached the receptionists to request the use of an eye rinse (for eye splash incidents, standard first aid). This wasn’t readily accessible so wasn’t offered it. I eventually got called in for my appointment (first a.m appointment but the nurse was running late!) which wasn’t completed as the practice didn’t have appropriately sized equipment (paediatric butterfly/ venflon) for taking blood from small veins. There were several concerns with this experience. Most importantly a duty of care to was not forthcoming from the practice and the response to the incident was unacceptable - up to and including the lack of follow up from the practice manager. The staff were blatantly unconcerned that an alcohol based hand sanitising agent went into my eye. Further to this unaddressed incident my patient records regarding that visit, stated: “The patient ran away”, which was neither accurate or appropriate. I again attempted to access the Practices’ services when I requested a certificate for an episode of sickness (COVID) in August ’24, because its duration surpassed the period that could be covered by a self-certificate. I explained that this was a requirement for work and that without it I would not be paid. This was done via the Dr i-q app (unpredictable reliability). I received an initial app response from the GP / GP assistant stating that they “didn’t understand what the patient wanted”. I resubmitted the request which was followed by a call back outside the times that I stated I would be available to take a call (I have limited phone reception at work and I’m treating patients most of the day). A message was left instructing me to resubmit another request for consultation which I did. I never received that consultation, nor was I issued a certificate to cover my sickness episode. I instead had to obtain this via a private GP, something I should not have to do. In general I find the staff working at Cassidy Medical Practice unpleasant to the point of being apathetic and for the very few occasions that I’ve had to rely on their services it has always felt like an unnecessary performance. Following my experience with this practice I don’t feel able to trust the facility with my health. Very poor service. For peace of mind I will be registering elsewhere.

    Based on my personal experience, I must say that Cassidy Medical Center is an incredibly unreliable facility. I recently called this center in desperate need of an advanced medical review and a doctor's appointment. To my dismay, they outright refused to accommodate my request, stating that they don't do any advance bookings whatsoever. Instead, I was instructed to call and book an appointment on the same day. This policy left me in a state of utter frustration and helplessness. I find it highly inconvenient and illogical that a medical center does not offer any option for advance booking, especially when patients require timely medical attention. To add to my distress, I am currently out of medication and under considerable stress, with no one at the center willing to assist me. The lack of compassion and willingness to accommodate patients' needs is truly disheartening. It is essential for a medical center to provide a supportive and efficient environment, particularly when patients are dealing with health issues that require immediate attention. Unfortunately, my experience at Cassidy Medical Center was far from satisfactory. I strongly advise potential patients to consider alternative healthcare facilities that prioritize patient care and understand the importance of accommodating urgent medical requests. The unavailability of advance bookings and the lack of assistance at Cassidy Medical Center have left me feeling neglected and frustrated.

    I have been asked to undergo a blood test. The person's GP or nurse did not introduce himself. Did not ask for consent or explain anything to me. My blood was taken without cleaning my skin. Gloves were already worn, and the clinician was on his computer. I was close to stopping him but was scared of his reaction. My last experience was much better.

    I went for a blood test and on being told the test was for my pituitary levels I asked for the earliest appointment. I was told the earliest possible was 09:40am. On the day I was fasting and called to check if I needed to fast, the receptionist checked and then told me not to. A month later I have to have the same bloods at an earlier time and fasted blood tests. This is the third time I'm having these taken this year. I also want to add the healthcare practitioner did not clean my skin with an alcho-wipe prior to inserting the needle and still kept their gloves on to use the computer keyboard and mouse. They did not wash their hands or change their gloves when I entered the room either.

    I have been trying to call for the past four days for an appointment as I have been requested by my team at the Marsden to have some bloods done as I haven’t been feeling well recently. It appears the telephone lines are down. I also tried to book an appointment through the Dr Iq app two days ago and I have heard nothing. How am I supposed to get an appointment and talk to a GP? This isn’t acceptable. Not being able to get hold of a GP when feeling unwell is quite worrying and at this stage I feel like changing practices. This is a basic need.

    I didn't catch the name of the female GP who dealt with me as part of a 111 follow-up for sinusitis following an upper respiratory tract infection, but she may have something like Iranian heritage. She was incredibly kind and compassionate on the phone and gave excellent advice - I am also a doctor, so I'd like to thank her for her out of hours support
