Got an appointment after calling reception. Your recorded message is shorter thank you! The appointment was for 3 days later which was amazing. I was having problems with my knee which I needed advice on. I got all the advice I needed re injury and exercises so I can help myself to get better, this is so much better than having to wait in pain for an overstretched physio appointment and I feel others could benefit from this early intervention. I am very happy I did and wish to thank the very kind and compassionate care I received from your first contact practitioner. I can't help feeling this will stop any condition worsening and would help so many. Thank you a small change in your service is making a big difference to me.

During my husband's 3 month battle with cancer we received outstanding support, care and compassion from the GPs, community nurses and staff at Castlegate and Derwent Surgery. The level of concern and involvement was of the highest calibre and we will be forever grateful for their medical expertise, professionalism and genuine concern which went above and beyond on every aspect of his care.

When I told the receptionist my symptoms she consulted a Doctor who asked me to attend the surgery straight away. I was referred to a nurse for an ECG which was carried out immediately. The Dr then fully and patiently discussed the diagnosis and treatment with me. My prescription was immediately available. I was told what to do if certain symptoms appeared and was booked to see the Dr in 4 days time when I had another ECG and medication was reviewed. The medication is doing its job I have a review in 2 weeks but know what to do if symptoms recur. I could not ask for better or speedier treatment. I am extremely grateful to all involved in providing such excellent care.

Called reception at 8.00am last Thursday, very worried. Saw doctor at 11.20am and after thorough examination and consultation with another doctor had blood sample taken by nurse immediately. Amazingly, the same day at about 5.00pm, a third doctor phoned to say that the results of the blood test warranted a scan at the West Cumberland Hospital. Had scan there at 3.30pm on Friday and went back to the surgery with the results. The receptionist was so helpful and patient and arranged for a doctor to see me. The doctor assured me that the condition was not life threatening and issued a prescription. What a fantastic service I received from all. From Thursday morning fearing the worst to Friday afternoon being so relieved. I can't thank you all enough!

After an uncomfortable weekend with an infection l rang the surgery 8am Mon and despite being 14 in the queue spoke to reception within a few minutes, was phoned back within within half an hour by a nurse and after a thorough q and a got a solution. Picked up prescription at 9.30am feeling lot better 2 days later. Received follow up call Thursday with further advice. Thanks to all great service and very much appreciated
