Great service from reception and nursing staff. Rang at 8.30 a.m., offered appointment with nurse practitioner at 10.15. Courteous, kind and efficient.

whilst I really appreciated the chance of a face to face appointment, I found the experience somewhat lacking when asked by the GP whether I wanted him to look at my problem and once he had then asked what did I think should happen. If i had rang the surgery and said this is my problem and I need antibiotics I would have been told I need to see someone/send images if by phone. I am also still waiting for a call to see another doctor who can deal further with my specific issue.

I was so impressed with the prompt service received from the surgery over the past few days, during a sudden onset health problem, needed urgent advice and from first contact with reception to receiving an urgent call back from duty gp could not fault the system. When I had to call back the second day for advice at 6pm the receptionist who took my call was so efficient and caring and took immediate advice from on duty GP and advised we should attend accident and emergency.

As a carer for a family member I was impressed with the service I received whilst in a panic. The nurse from the prescribing team talked me through the main symptoms and side effects and arranged for one of the GPs to ring me in the morning. The GP was caring and efficient, ringing back after consulting with a AED consultant, arranging tests later that morning and then a lengthy face to face consultation, liaising with the pharmacist and arranging a 2 week follow up. The HCA who carried out the ECG and blood tests was also extremely caring and professional. An all round impressive service from reception to pharmacy. Well done and thank you.

A great experience from phone call to seeing practice nurse. I was lucky receiving cancellation, but from call to seeing practitioner was less than 2 hours! Nurse was thorough, empathetic and friendly.

All the team at the practice do a great job under difficult National Health Service pressures. I’ve seen two of the younger male Drs over last few years and both have been excellent showing professionalism, empathy and compassion that in all honesty has kept me alive. All the team go out of their way to help. Best Doctors surgery I’ve ever used and having lived all over the United Kingdom and Cumbria I’ve experience of many. A highly progressive practice that cares. Thank you.

I have been a patient at Castlegate Surgery for a number of years. I find that the Dr’s and all the receptionists are all so helpful and kind. I have seen a Dr when it has been necessary and find it annoying when so many people complain and hardly any say thank you. My husband feels the same and we are glad to belong to the practice.

Called for a child's illness, got a call back and appointment the same morning. Plenty of space in the waiting area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A fantastic service. I'm delighted to have such a wonderful facility in our community. Well done everyone!

I was seen by the Pharmacist who advised and arranged for me to receive a triage call from the GP. The GP called within 15 minutes and saw me the same day - she persuaded me to go to hospital to receive treatment and made all of the arrangements for this to happen. I was against going to hospital as I was frightened but she was able encourage me to accept this was the most appropriate course of action in order for me to get better. If it had not been for the excellent care provided by both the Pharmacist and the GP, I would not have received the urgent diagnosis and care that I needed at West Cumberland Hospital.
