I have visited Castlegate surgery twice recently and had appointments with the Nurse regarding hrt.... I have heard worrying stories about ladies finding it difficult to be prescribed hrt but this was definitely not my experience... I had done the research beforehand so knew what I wanted, and I was prepared to talk about how menopause was affecting my daily life.... The nurse asked questions....but more importantly listened.... didn't judge.....she shared some of her own experiences and spoke to me as an equal.....I felt that my opinions and comments were valued and I was given the hrt I wanted as we both decided that was the best one for me.... I felt so positive during and after my appointment which is something I hadn't felt for a while due to the impact menopause was having on me!! The nurse was very complimentary on the lifestyle changes I'd made (losing 30+kg....exercise/running regularly) and explained clearly how this was also improving my later years (my words..not hers!!) My subsequent hrt review was similarly positive and am so grateful that my experience has been so good..
