    Had a good chat with my doctor who checked me out and explained what it was I was suffering with and what I needed to try and do

    My family has been with the practice about 8 years. Admin, nursing and medical staff have always been great. I have a new possibly chronic condition which I'm being helped with. Drs are professional, caring and knowledgeable. The practice seems organised and well led. At the moment, as with all NHS services, they are overstretched. They tell me covering sick leave and annual leave with locums is now very difficult. Appointments are often booked up "on the day" and there are few appointments available to book ahead. To note though they have always seen my children on the same day when urgent. I hope something improves soon. The surgery staff must be exhausted.

It is fair to say that our team are overstretched, and unfortunately they get a lot of abuse from a vocal minority of patients which can leave them feeling exhausted. But we’re all trying our best to provide the best service we can with limited resource. Regardless, as you’ve stated we will always try to prioritise poorly children wherever physically possible to do so. There’s no quick fixes as our biggest issue is a national shortage of GPs, but we’re doing our best to introduce other team members (physiotherapists, pharmacists, care coordinators and others) so we can help as many people as possible.     I’ve rang for an appointment every morning for over a week, finally got on the waiting list on hold for 45 minutes to be rudely told there was no appointments and that I should ring 111 or go to a&e, previous experience they text me asking to make an appointment, it took days again to get through to be told they only do emergency appointments, when I told the receptionist that they had asked me to make one she just said to try again in a week

There is massive national pressure on appointments, and the practice (as well as others nationally) are delivering more than ever. However, that doesn’t really help you when you can’t get one.     Hi Jon, We are sorry to hear you feel you have been ignored. We ask all patients to complete a application to be apart of our PPG as it has now expanded across our PCN. You can collect the application forms from reception. If you have already completed an application you will be contacted. Please be mindful We have a lot of applications to go through. Thankyou.

    My appointment was 25 minutes late but l know the doctors are busy. I was very pleased with the doctor l saw. Often when l phone for an appointment at 8am all appointments have been filled

    Hi Pauline, thanks for taking the time to leave feedback for us. I'm glad to hear you had a positive experience overall, and that the doctor was able to help. We're doing what we can to recruit additional GPs to increase the number of appointments available, as we know this is a key issue to our patients, like many practices in the UK. Sorry to hear we were running late on the day, this is something we're looking into internally to try to find ways of reducing the delay for patients.

    I phoned up today to chase up a repeat prescription for my asthma medication, Pharmacy2U normally deal with my prescriptions however informed me that the request made on the 17/08 hadn't been approved. I am not entirely sure why as my medication hasn't changed for over 5 years and am always up to date with my asthma reviews, but this isn't the point of my complaint. When I spoke to the receptionist, who initially informed me that the prescription hadn't been approved (clearly I already knew this), I asked whether she had an ability to push it to the front of the queue, bearing in mind I had also let her know that I am now running extremely low on the medication. I received a simple but curt response "no" when I then started to ask her what she could do, I was told to "stop talking over me", to which I responded that I was not, to which she re-iterated that I was - she clearly had no further interest in dealing with me and didn't provide any solution to my problem, other than phone back tomorrow - to presumably be told the same by the same rude receptionist?! Her phone manner was appalling and patronising. I would go as far as to say it is a good job I was on the phone and a relatively calm individual - I sense, from reading other comments and the change in the standard message when you phone up, that your staff might have suffered from some abuse over recent months/years (which I agree isn't acceptable) - however as a bit of feedback the other way I would suggest that they do not help themselves and there are probably many patients like myself wanting a simple solution to a simple problem who then end up having to bite their tongue As an aside to all of this - I am nearly out of medication, and short of heading down to reception in person one day this week and refusing to move until I have a solution (which I am prepared to do so knowing what a lack of medication has the potential to lead to) I am still without a solution to my issue.
