    Tried to ring to speak to some on advice of a paramedic but that is not possible, directs you to e consult which takes up to 3 days to get a response. There are options to complete e consult over the phone or another option to speak to a person but these are constantly engaged. Its almost like patients are an inconvenience. Appalling service and would not recommend to anyone. Taking steps to move to another surgery

We have recently introduced the use of eConsult for appointments to manage the demand on our phone lines and appointments. The eConsult submissions are monitored by our dedicated Care Navigation team who will identify any submissions that need urgent attention with an appropriate clinician. This has helped us to navigate our appointment requests to ensure that our patients with urgent needs are offered care in an appropriate timeframe. We are aware that our phone lines are very busy, and we encourage our patients to get in touch using other methods if they are able to keep the lines available for those who need to get in touch urgently or who need additional support. We would like to assure you that our patients are not an inconvenience. We frequently review feedback to work on improving our service for our patients.     We have been patients of the Barn Surgery for over 30 years. As far as we are concerned, the treatment we have received has been first class from all the receptionists, phone amswerers, blood testers,practise nurses, doctors and all the back room staff. Ofcourse like everyone else there have been one or two slip ups but as far as we are concerned we ate very happy, contented patients, very grateful to Christchurch Medical Practice.

    Orchard surgery used to be great not now New system a joke it's all very well seeing a nurse but no Doctor's why the system is a shambles. I feel very let down try to book a appointment on line waste of time as for phoning be prepared for a long wait.

We understand our phone lines are busy, thus encourage patients who are able to get in touch by other means. We are aware that there is an exceptional demand on GP appointments which outweighs capacity. This is the main reason that we have adopted a new system of requesting appointments. This will enable us to navigate patients to the most appropriate help in the most appropriate time frame, in turn making more GP appointments available. We understand that our phone lines are busy, and we are hopeful that more and more patients will start to use our online platform for submitting appointment requests, thereby keeping our phone lines open to those who need to get in touch to request an appointment. We are continually looking at different technologies to assist with the patient journey.     You cannot get an appointment, you have to do an econsult form on the website ,which takes forever ,with irrelevant questions ,only then to get a message to say someone will contact you in 2 days .this surgery is virtually non existent, receptionist is bolshy,rude.i havnt been able to have a face to face consultation since 2019 and as regards to telephone appointments you only speak to a nurse ,who then says There are no appointments to see a doctor,its completely in excetable and patients are suffering.i do not see why you have to tell the receptionist what is wrong with you for her to decide who you see ,or receive a call from .bring back the appointment system where you can book a day and time ,not sitting around waiting for a call at sometime that day .I would not recommend Christchurch medical practise to anyone and know many patients feel frustrated .

In order for us to investigate your experience fully, please would you email us the details, including your full name and date of birth on cmp.reception@nhs.net? Due to the changing needs of our population, demand has outweighed capacity across General Practice. To help manage the demand we face, we have introduced a new system, whereby all appointment requests go via out eConsult facility. This will enable our team of care navigators, who are led by clinicians, to review and signpost your request to the most appropriate service or clinicians in an appropriate timeframe. This in turn will open up capacity with GPs and other clinicians to ensure our patients receive the correct and most appropriate help for their medical needs. We believe the system is already working well and have received positive feedback from many patients. We do have a wide range of appointments available with various clinicians which include GPs.     I been trying for weeks to get appointment I ring at 8 every morning line busy week day. And found out people are waiting out 7.30 at the dr’s surgery for appointment. It’s wrong people waiting outside to get appointment. I need to see a dr in so much pain..can’t book appointment they said no. They said ring at 8 you got no chance!!! Too many people are registered now. Why can’t I ring up and getting though. Used to be a good dr if you can see the dr!!!!!!

    After trying unsuccessfully from 8:30am to get through to the surgery, E consult advised to contact 111. Call back from surgery arranged. Rang at 3pm to find out when my call would be and after listening to a repetitive message demanding we treat the staff with respect the woman I then spoke to did exactly the opposite to me from the moment she spoke. Very upset and my son still hasn’t been contacted. This sadly is not the first bad experience so will be looking to change practice.

    Desperately need an appointment with the physio, as I need another steroid injection for my knee.I am in agony, but just can't get a reply on appointment line. I was number 4 in the queue today, but after an hour only got to caller number 3. Something must be wrong with the system.

    Takes a minimum of 45 minutes to get through to this practice. When I finally did get through around 9.30am, I requested an urgent appointment for my daughter. They sent me to Bournemouth out of hours GP service. It was not out of hours. Why are they not seeing own patients? Felt embarrassed at hospital as they were so busy. They said not to worry, this practice do this a lot. If it had been for me, i would have given up long before trying to get an appointment. In fact, i have needed to speak to a dr for a while but am so put off using this practice. I am going to leave, they clearly cannot cope with the number of patients they have.

    I requested a doctors appointment and told none were available. The receptionist asked me about my symptoms. I am uncomfortable giving private medical information over the phone to a non medically trained staff member especially as she cant advise me. When waiting in reception I have over heard very private conversations as the receptionist is speaking very loudly and openly in front of a queue of patients including identifying data such as name address and complaint. Most of all the receptionist was incredibly rude insensitive and sharp and confrontational intimidating and I did not want to continue the call with her ( 28 September 2022 11am)

    I rung up early in the morning and spoke to a very helpful person who managed to book me in on that same day. When I arrived everyone was friendly and attentive and I was called into my appointment early. The nurse was knowledgeable and seemed to really care about my health. Thank you to everyone for an excellent service.
