Review titled Almost impossible to book an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2024
Absolutely disgusting the way all patients have to call and queue by 8am to try and get an appointment for any day. If they’re gone it’s tough, you have to keep calling each day to try and win the healthcare lottery.

Review titled Lack of appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 September 2024
Multiple times I have tried to get an appointment to no luck. If you call or go in to the doctors you are told you need to go online and fill out the Patches thing but it is never open tells you to come back tomorrow at 7am and then at 7am it says it’s closed still. I understand the struggles a GP surgery faces but something needs to be done to help fix this issue, it needs to be looked into to see what can be done to improve because so many people are left suffering because they cannot get into to an appointment. I see they have opened up more appointment times between 18.30 and 20.00 and even on Saturday but still doesn’t appear to have made a difference. However I would like to add that I have had 2 appointments a few years ago with one specific doctor at the practice who is amazing. The doctor is straight to the point but in a caring way and always gets things sorted it is thanks to this doctor that I am actually receiving the necessary care for 2 conditions by specialists. Wish I could name this doctor as this doctor is amazing and never fails to help and be supportive unlike others at the practice who let it down.

Dear Patient Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about the difficulty in securing an appointment at our practice. I understand how frustrating it can be not to get the timely access you need, and I appreciate your patience during this time. The demand for GP appointments has been exceptionally high recently, and our team is working diligently to accommodate as many patients as possible. While we strive to provide accessible care to all of our patients, there are times when appointment availability is limited due to this increased demand. We want to assure you that we are exploring all possible ways to manage this including using other healthcare professionals to support our patients needs. In the meantime, if your health concern is urgent, please let our reception team know, and they will do their best to prioritise your care. PATCHES is our online consultation which is available every day from 7am, once the capacity has been taken for the day PATCHES will automatically close until the next day. We truly value your understanding and patience, and our goal remains to provide you with the highest standard of care. If there’s anything else we can do to support you, please feel free to get in touch. Yours sincerely, Kelsey Keam Practice Operations Manager Dr Maassarani & Partners

I have multiple times tried to contact the surgery in order to get a sick note aswell as an appoinment for an ongoing conditon. Everytime I got to call the surgery the automated line gives me options so I follow the options and get cut off due to the surgery not opening phone lines before 11am. I then went online to get and appoinment and request a sick note as you used to be able to do so but yet again, It wants me to register for Patchs which is a load of rubbish as once you register and go to make a request you get no confirmation of request and it just says all appointments taken even if you are trying to request a sick note. I dont get why it has to be so hard in order to get an apoinment or sick note for work. The surgery used to be good and ateentive to these things but ever since they changed things it has gone down hill alot and I;m suprised patients havnt left and found GPs elsewhere. Again Im constantly trying each day which I have been and yet still no response. It really needs to be sorted as it feels like myself and others are getting neglected by our own Gp Surgery

Review titled Unable to contact

by Stacey McVey - Posted on 01 May 2024
After 15 or so attempts of being cut of after 35 seconds when trying to call to make an appointment I e-mailed the practice e-mail address I had because I naively assumed the lines were down. I then went the practice on my lunch to try and make an appointment and the receptionist advised me this was not possible and my only options were to try the patches system on line or come back at 7.30am and queue up. I asked were appointments released on the app like previous years, the receptionist didn't now and she didn't know why the lines were cutting of after 35 seconds. This is an absurd way to deal with patients and a shocking process. She was perfectly polite but how could she not know if the lines had been down or not? I personally have not needed a GP in a few years and I was told how badly the practice had declined since the take over but didn't believe it. It's actually worse than I imagined. I will try the patches system at 7am whilst I queue up outside but getting an appointment should not be this much time and effort. I will look to change GP's. I did also receive an SMS inviting me to PPG event on 7th May for coffee and cake with an e-mail to respond to, I've tried mailing to get an appointment but got no response. I get all the difficulties the NHS faces but how can you take over a practice and just end all lines of communication?

Dear Mrs Mcvey, Thank you for leaving feedback. In July 2023 Trentham Medical centre telephone line was changed once it merged with Dr Maassarani & Partners. Please ensure when calling the practice you are calling Dr Maassarani & Partners 0151 902 0010 not The old Trentham Medical Centre as that practice no longer exists. If you are still having difficulties please don't hesitate to contact us. Many thanks Kelsey Keam Practice Operations Manager

Review titled Just don't listen

by Damon Johnson - Posted on 25 March 2024
I have had a horrible time with prescriptions. I had an old surgery on the NHS app and called up to get it removed as I had letters going to my old GP. The receptionist removed the wrong one and now I cant order prescriptions. Absolutely baffled as I asked the receptionist to confirm she had it right as they lack the ability to carry out the task at hand. Low and behold, two months later, the wrong surgery has been removed. Feels like an episode of beadles about or black mirror every time I deal with them.

Cant even get online unless its 7am to try and book further bloods to see if my levels have come down a bit as advised in my occupational health referral this morning

Review titled Refused to help at all
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mark O’Toole - Posted on 28 February 2024
Having been involved in an accident abroad and requiring major surgery. Trying to make a follow up appointment with this GP is harder than finding a unicorn. I have a wound in my arm that needs 30 staples removing. Dressings that need to be changed every three days as infection could render my arm useless. But as usual this practise’s answer is we have no appointments. Next step is now to speak to a builder with two pairs of pliers to remove my 30 staples. Thanks to all at Towerhill medical centre your primary objective to provide the best patient care is truly none existent, infact I’d go as far to say it’s tax payers money for all rope

Dear Mr O'Toole The practice takes all feedback seriously and uses this to improve patient experience at the practice. I'm sorry to hear of your accident and the trouble of obtaining an appointment at the practice. From what you have described needing to have staples removed, this is not a service that is provided by primary care. The treatment room run by Mersey Care offers this service and patients can access this service by a self referral by calling to book an appointment. I have inserted the website of the treatment rooms for your information. https://www.merseycare.nhs.uk/our-services/knowsley/treatment-rooms If you would like to discuss this any further please do not hesitate to contact the practice.
