  1. Review titled Fast and efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jessica - Posted on 25 February 2025

Recently changed to this GP and used for the first time. Just needed a prescription for reflux during pregnancy, got referred to clinic pharmacist who was quick to call me and sort my prescription, really friendly and helpful; literally within about an hour I’d had phonecall with the pharmacist and an hour later, a text to say it had been prescribed. Waited 2 weeks with last GP. So grateful for the efficient service!

  2. Review titled Absolutely terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have tried to get a same day appointment today and The triage service is awful, cannot get a same day appointment no matter how ill you are! Left for 2 more weeks in pain! Triage forms are pointless

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience booking your appointments. Our practice has made these changes in line with the governments plan to modernise General Practice. As part of our NHS contract, all GP practices are now required to use an online system for appointment requests and triage. This means that, in most cases, patients will need to complete a short online form to request an appointment or medical advice. This system has been introduced nationally to help ensure that all patients are directed to the most appropriate care as quickly as possible. It allows our team to assess requests efficiently and prioritise those who need urgent attention while also helping to reduce phone line congestion. Same day or routine appointments are triaged based on the information you provide. If you are offered a routine appointment in the future and your symptoms have changed or you feel that you need to be seen sooner, please complete another online form and update us with any changes or provide further information so we can review your request again. Many thanks The practice management team

Dear patient Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your suggestions on additional health checks for older male patients. As a practice, we follow national screening guidelines based on the latest clinical evidence to ensure that tests and examinations are appropriate and beneficial. For example: Prostate cancer screening: The NHS does not routinely offer PSA tests, as evidence suggests they can sometimes lead to unnecessary investigations. However, men over 50 can request one if they have any concerns and after discussing the risks and benefits with a GP. Hernia and testicular cancer checks: These are not part of routine NHS screening but can be assessed by the right clinician if a patient has symptoms or concerns. Most routine health checks are carried out by the nursing team who are not trained to perform these examinations but they can arrange a GP review if required. Personal hygiene checks: While not routinely offered, we encourage patients to raise any issues during their consultation. If you have any concerns and would like to discuss any of these areas further, please complete an online request Many Thanks The Management Team

  4. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Both my elderly parents have received excellent care from all the Gp’s in recent weeks and months. Dad has become increasingly frail and ill and mum with a worrying cancer referral . The pharmacists and nursing team have all provided great care ,support and ensured we as a family are able to manage and are aware of community support as necessary . The triage system has worked well when I’ve completed a request on behalf of either parent , I’ve always received prompt’s responses The repeat prescription request again no issues and if I’ve needed to phone the prescription clerk she has been so helpful . Thank you from a grateful daughter

  7. Review titled Efficient appointment system

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Briggs - Posted on 18 October 2024

The new appointment system at Colton Mill is easy to use and much better than the old system of booking an appointment over the phone. Got a call back during the day from the Dr and everything was resolved

  9. Review titled Great system to triage

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deborah Armstrong - Posted on 16 October 2024

The new system in place to triage requests for advice or GP appointments is really efficient and a better use of time. It removes the anxiety of trying to ring to get advice and i feel reassured that someone will always get back to me. Thank you and well done to your hard working team!

  10. Review titled Booking a non urgent appointment with a nurse for bloods

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Andrew Sullivan - Posted on 29 October 2024

Previously you could do this simply online. On this occasion I received an email asking me to book a bloods and blood pressure appointment with the nurse. The link in the email didn’t work and when I went to the practice website to fill out the triage form, the limit of completed forms for the day had been reached. I completed the form the following day and received a phone call to be told that no appointments for the nurse were available and to phone back in two to three weeks.

At the time of your request, we did have limited nurse capacity due to nurse training and a vacancy. We are currently fully staffed and trained which has improved the capacity for many nurse appointments. You can attend any of the hospital drop in blood clinics without an appointment in the future if your blood test request has been added to the system. You can also use our self check BP machine in reception rather than waiting for an appointment. Many thanks The practice management team
