  1. Review titled Sack the lot

Rated 1 star out of 5

In view of replacing with skin antibiotics pills prescriber's. You go to eye a&e, beautiful foyer reception, antibiotics issued within hours, results within hours, cured within days. Replace old staff with skin condition sensitive staff, not fob you off, pathetic staff who manage to say dermatology or diabetes!

  2. Review titled Quick and painless

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rosie - Posted on 03 August 2024

I was dreading having the IUD. However, process with Dr and the nurse was so positive. They immediately put me at ease and the actual insertion took about 5 minutes. I was honestly shocked it was over so quickly. They were kind and friendly and made me feel relaxed too. Thank you! I would note, that this doctor was particularly quick with smear tests, so I had waited to get this procedure done with her. I appreciate names can’t be mentioned, but if you’re nervous, it’s worth asking reception which doctors they recommend.

  3. Review titled Receptionist on the “other inquiries” desk

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ylani Evans - Posted on 22 July 2024

I have autism and was very overwhelmed when I got to the surgery. While waiting in the “appointments only” desk my appointment time past. This made me anxious and overwhelmed. The person on the “other inquires” desk helped me check in. My name was called and we didn’t hear properly so she went up and checked, came down and to me to let me know. She didn’t know I had autism but she went above and beyond anyway. She was really kind and patient (I was stuttering).

  4. Review titled Never answer the phone

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2024

I've been on hold to speak to a receptionist for half an hour now, and for 20 minutes of that time I've been number 1 in the call queue. Clearly the receptionists just aren't answering the phone. I'm not in Bristol right now and need to speak to someone on the phone as it's Friday afternoon and I won't be able to see anyone for 2 days. How is this acceptable? The doctors and nurses are all amazing, but the rest of the surgery is let down by this.

Dear patient I am sorry to hear of your frustration. The receptionists are answering the phones but sadly we have staff off sick and on leave which impacts on response times. Our e-consult service on the website is a good way of contacting us if not urgent. Please let us know if you still need to be seen or need help via this system. It may not be possible to be seen at short notice on a Friday but our team can triage and offer solutions. Over a weekend, you can contact 111 for further advice. Assuring you we do our best at all times. Kind regards Val- Practice Manager

I called at 4 pm to book an appointment, it was the soonest I was availible. I went from 18 in call que to 1 at 17:45, it is now 18:25 and website says they shut at 18:30. I followed guidance from NHS website regarding symptoms where you guided me to see my GP. Have they just stopped taking calls, this is ridiculous please look into your internal process

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience. I am sorry that you had to wait 45 minutes in a queue and I appreciate your frustration, but this week has been particularly difficult for us due to staff sickness and a bank holiday. I believe there were only 2 members of staff available at that time which is not at all usual. I hope that you have now been offered an appointment but in future, if time is limited, please use our e-consult service as we do monitor these on a daily basis and aim to respond within 24 hours. Kind Regards Val Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by MaryRose - Posted on 10 May 2024

I was referred to Rheumatology and they did not accept the referral so my GP went the extra mile and referred me to Ultrasound for an ultrasound-guided injection and l really appreciate my GP's kindness and understanding because usually for the condition l had- you would take the medication prescribed but because it would affect my already damaged liver, she helped me get the injection instead. This is a very caring and well run practice and the Receptionists are incredibly helpful too.

  8. Review titled Don’t risk your health using this surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mr M Church - Posted on 12 February 2024

This practice puts money before patients. Its literally impossible to speak to qualified practitioner. You are forced to discuss medical issues with a receptionist, who in my case asked me to collect sample vessels, provide specific samples and return, which I did. Having not heard anything 6 weeks later I subsequently found out my samples had been destroyed without analysis as they hadn’t been authorised by a qualified practitioner. Being someone who has suffered from a form of eczema and having repeat prescriptions for almost 60 hrs to self manage the condition and avoid taking up their time just be aware they regularly stop the prescription leaving you without medication for weeks on end. I can quite honestly advise you to avoid this surgery at all costs. Profit before care very much sums up my experience of them. Please don’t risk yours or your families health.

Dear M Church Thank you for taking the time to feedback. We always like to hear from patients who are not satisfied with the service we provide as often we can learn from those experiences and improve the way we do things. I have checked the points you have raised. In regards to the prescription you mention, you have not had this issued for some years and it is unsafe to just re-authorise any medication without reviewing you. I note you were also offered an appointment to discuss this. However, the items you requested can be purchased over the counter and GP surgeries are now asked not to prescribe items such as creams that can be purchased. This is not about us making a profit-we don't. This is about reducing the burden on the NHS prescribing budget over which we have no control. On a final note, our receptionists are trained health navigators who are able to triage non clinically, much the same as 111 call handlers do. Their questions assist us in prioritising urgent requests and should you need to see or speak to a clinician you would be able to do so. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this further. 9. Review titled So far so good!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Megan T - Posted on 18 January 2024

I have not yet been inside this practise as only been registered for less than a month. However once I had registered I was able to book a telephone consultation regarding contraception. The receptionist was lovely and very caring towards what I was concerned about. I got told my phone call would be in the morning and promptly had my call during the timeframe they gave me. Usually doctors refuse to talk about anything else other than what the appointment was for however I mentioned that I was coming off my anti depressants myself as the last doctors I had was very unhelpful. With that after booking my contraceptive apt and my smear which was overdue (thanks old doctors) the woman who I spoke to then messaged me with the next steps to come off my anti depressants as I had been begging my last doctor to give me information. The NHS is stretched enough as it is but the care and response I received from this practise has completely given me faith that my health will be taken seriously and with a lot of care. I ended my phone call beaming ear to ear exclaiming to my workplace how happy I was to have been given excellent service from this doctors surgery. Thank you East Trees for giving my faith in doctors back. Looking forward to my first appointment! Very happy human here.

  10. Review titled Excellent customer service and patient care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Elizabeth S - Posted on 31 January 2024

Since we have had our baby daughter the practice has been absolutely amazing for her. Today we called because she had a terrible painful rash and all the staff have been amazingly accommodating to allow us to be seen quickly and to get the treatment the baby needed. Specific compliments to the reception team who went out of their way to help us and to the paramedic who gave us excellent care. We really appreciate this practice and want to thank all the staff for being such a caring, efficient and friendly team.
