    I filled in the online form today to try to see someone about sore eyes ringing ear’s dizziness and headaches! Filled out the form around 9am this morning heard nothing all day and then at 4pm received a phone call offering an appointment in a weeks time! I asked if there were any earlier appointments to be told if you have sore eyes see a pharmacist! Absolute joke

    Thanks for offering your feedback. All our appointment requests are screened by an experienced doctor to assess the urgency of the medical problem. This often results in a same-day appointment but on occasion a routine appointment is offered, usually with the doctor who knows you best. No system is perfect so if you feel we were wrong in our assessment of the urgency of your medical problem we would be very happy to review your case to help improve our service. If you can contact our practice manager and give your details we would be happy to look into this matter further.

    Rude reception staff. So difficult to see a GP I gave up. Perhaps this is their aim. Online system could be better developed by a 10 year old. How much of our tax money was spent on that joke?

    Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Currently Edenbridge is ranked number one in Kent and seventh in England for same-day access. Non-urgent appointments can take a little longer, in the order of about two weeks, sometimes slightly more, sometimes less. It is therefore difficult to understand why you have been unable to get an appointment. Please use the online booking form via the website and we will be happy to assist you. More than 3,000 patients a month use the online tool successfully. All appointment requests are screened by an experienced doctor to ensure you get the help you need in a timely manner. If you are struggling to use the online system our reception staff can support you. They always try to be courteous and helpful, sometimes in challenging circumstances.

    I've always been very happy with visiting and being treated at the practice - both in it's old and new location. I am fully supportive of the surgery using online services to allow patients to manage their interaction with the surgery (messaging, appointment booking, repeat prescriptions etc). Unfortunately Edenbridge Medical Practice's implementation of technology (whether through the website or the NHS App) to support patients has been really bad for some time. One of the benefits of an online service is to make interactions with the surgery more convenient - e.g. by allowing the patient to access services and interact at any time of day, especially when the alternative is to call and patiently wait in a typically long queue! Unfortunately, the web and app service limits the user to i) only being able to send messages to the GP within certain times of the day and ii) only being able to book appointments on the day (i.e. emergency appointments), assuming slots on the day remain available. In my case there have been several occasions where I've wanted to message my GP to enquire about my health and arrange for a check-up to discuss things. It's not urgent or an emergency so I don't feel the need to call 999 or 111. However the service means I have to wait for the 'right time' (the page doesn't say what the right time is, but presumably 'earlier' in the day but not before 0800) to be able to send a message and arrange a non-urgent appointment. In the end the service is a nuisance and inconvenient, so I have put things off. Good thing my concerns haven't turned out to be urgent, yet! It would be far more convenient if the web and app services allowed patients to send a message at any time to their GP (or as the case may be a triage mailbox) to seek non-urgent but still potentially important advice and/or request non-urgent appointments. To underline the point of my concerns, it took several efforts rooting around the Edenbridge Medical Practice website to find the page on which to provide this feedback!

    Thank you for your feedback. We do understand it would be much more convenient to have access to appointments 24/7. At present, we have access to administrative requests, such as test result enquiries, medical certificates and other non-clinical enquiries 24/7. Unfortunately we cannot offer access to clinical appointments around the clock, partly for reasons of clinical safety (the systems involved in ensuring that serious illnesses are not left unaddressed overnight or at weekends would require us to use a much more cumbersome online triage system), but mainly because general practice is not resourced to provide clinical services outside of normal hours, rather patients are encouraged to use out of hours or 111 for matters that cannot wait. Please be reassured that if and when the funding of primary care services allows more expansive access, we are ready and willing to engage. We are grateful for your further feedback that your interactions with the practice have been largely positive.

    I saw a doctor today hoping to be reassured that the issue I wished to discuss was not a serious problem. I was impressed by the way in which he took it seriously and then reassured me that all is well. I found the online booking system really easy to use and was impressed by how quickly I was contacted to book an appointment. Whenever I use this health centre, I am reminded how lucky we are to experience such a high standard of care in Edenbridge.

    I’ve never had an issue with this surgery. I’m always impressed with them. I contacted the surgery yesterday at around 1pm for a letter from my GP and I was called by 8.30 this morning to say it was ready. Whilst in the surgery collecting my letter I was easily able to book an appointment with one of the nurses, with several dates to choose from. Absolutely amazing service.

    Left email message today to ask if I needed to see GP for audiology appointment as my present privately bought hearing aids need replacing and I now cannot afford to buy new ones. I received a very quick response from my GP who had referred me to Pembury Audiology and I now have appointment on 22nd November 2024. Many thanks this quick referral was very much appreciated.

    I have a couple concerns in regard of my health and because you can’t just book an appointment anymore, I had to do the online form. They processed it pretty quickly, however they called me multiple times and when I couldn’t answer they automatically booked me in for an appointment, which I couldn’t do since I work til 5pm. So I called up reception, and their answer to me not being able to attend was “I can’t do much about that”. I was then told I couldn’t book an appointment for the next day or next week. Which is atrocious! And was told I should redo the form tomorrow morning for another appointment and put the time in available, however there’s not a space for that on the form! I then received a call 10 minutes later to remind me about said appointment even though I already called and said i couldn’t attend! I’m going to just use the pharmacy instead and see what they could do!

If you filled this in, and we missed it, please accept our apologies. Online booking has allowed us to improve the speed at which we can offer appointments but it sounds like on this occasion we may have got it wrong, for which we are sorry.

    The staff went above and beyond to help my mum and myself at the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre. We had been delayed due to transport issues. The staff went out of their way to fit in mums' procedure. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend this Health Centre.

    One person on reception and one eating a cake. A queue of four people (there were three at the old surgery). Gave up waiting while the person at the front of the queue wanted to chat about her birthday. I visited because my GP had prescribed a drug that is nationally unavailable. I asked for an alternative and my request was rejected. Another instance of Health Couldn't Care.

    We are sorry the medication you needed is unavailable nationally at present. We understand how frustrating this is. Unfortunately, this has been a growing problem for patients in recent years and is beyond our control. Please liaise with the dispensary team as they, and our clinical pharmacist, can recommend alternative options that may be available. Our team care a great deal for the wellbeing of our patients and are sorry that this was not your experience.
