  1. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2024

used the new on line service this morning and at 5.00 pm have had no response from the surgery. My daughter took me to A and E at Stepping Hill and I received a first class service. When we originally moved into the area in 1988 we were under the Drs across the road. Never have we received a service like that since being under Ellesmere Medical Centre. They might as well put 'Closed Until Further Notice' with this new system. My husband and I are looking at moving to a new Drs that actually care about their patients. Don't bother ringing like I said the hospital has sorted me out!!!

  2. Review titled rude receptionists

by Anne - Posted on 22 May 2024

I had a very bad flare up of my condition so went into the surgery so they could see it and asked for an appointment that day. The receptionist said I had to do it online, when I said I couldnt she said I will do it this once but not in future. I saw the doctor and have no complaints about that. When I got home I read the medication leaflet and saw that there was a problem with the medication as I have multiple allergies due to my immunce system. I phoned the surgery and asked for a message to be sent to doctor to ask if I could saftely take meds.A different receptionist said I had to do it online and Itold her I do not have a smartphone, she said well what kind of phone have you got you need to link it to the internet. I have a laptop but could only get appointments up for dial house not ellsmere. I asked her to do it for me and she said no. You have told me you have the internet so you have to do it that way. She spent so much time argueing about it and insisting I had to do it, she could have done it 3 times over. In the end she did it and the doctor rang me. This attitude of receptionists not acceptable everybody is not on the internet or may not be able to do this with the internet. So if you ring you just have to lie and say you do not have the internet. I agree with Paul who points out many people will slip through the net, as I have more or less been told by 2 receptionists I can not get an appointment in future because I have the internet but do not want to do it.

  3. Review titled And the downward spiral continues

by Paul - Posted on 16 May 2024

I have been a patient for over 25 years. It's gone from same day appointments to wait three weeks for an appointment to can't get an appointment by phone. Phoned for an appointment but was told they are no longer taking appointments by phone and I will have to do it online. Did they let the patients know because I wasn't informed. Whoever it was I spoke to said she would send me the details if I gave her my details which I did. Guess what, yes I am still waiting. Tried using the NHS app which then told me "no appointments to be booked online at this time". It is now beyond a joke and someone is going to slip through the net and is going to end up loosing their life. Whosever idea it was to implement a "no phone call" appointment system should be stood in a corner with a dunces hat on.

I am so sorry that you have had this experience of our new system. We have introduced a ‘total triage’ appointment system, whereby patients’ requests for GP appointments are dealt with on the same day via our website, a link to which should have been sent to you after your phone call – apologies if we failed to provide you with this link - https://www.caritasgppartnership.co.uk/Home We took the decision to convert to ‘total triage’ to ensure that patients no longer have to wait in a, sometimes, long queue on the telephone trying to make an appointment – I would ask that you bear with us during this transition period. Obviously if you are unable to access the internet, then our reception team will be happy to help you complete the request form. The NHS app will not let you book a routine appointment, as all appointment requests are now triaged by a GP ON THE SAME DAY, before a patient is directed to the appropriate clinician. Please do contact the surgery if you would like any further assistance. Tracy Johnstone Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Customer service not.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Robert Plant - Posted on 02 May 2024

I tried to book a medication revue last week and the telephone message was very unhelpful insisting on internet availability. I thought I would try a walk in this week to book the appointment. I was amazed to learn that the receptionist could not help me to book an appointment because she only “dealt with appointments “. I said well that’s what I want to do “make an appointment “ . She replied that the team upstairs deal with revues! I asked how long has this system been in place? She said “since last week”. What was incredulous was the fact that she had a computer screen in front of her but could not help me with my booking. I booked it later by telephone as it appears the system of insisting on internet availability had changed from the week before. I have been with this practice for a number of years and do not bother them unnecessarily. I book my medication through the chemist so I only call in once a year. I have seen the number of administrative assistants at the practice has increased many fold, while the service you receive has declined. The sole purpose of the administrative staff seems to be for stalling and preventing you from getting the service you require! When I managed to book my appointment I asked the team member “why has the system changed?” I was told it was happening at all the local practices and they were following suit. I said who was behind this change and she said the NHS! If the NHS is behind this idea I think whoever dreamt it up needs to think again! Many people rely on medical professionals and assume they will be dealt with in a polite, sympathetic and caring way. The growth of the extra “administrative “ culture is compromising this!

  5. Review titled unhelpful receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went into the practice to request an appointment for a very bad flare up of my condition. I told the receptionist I had had trouble trying to do this online as I do not have a smartphone and cannot get the app. She said she would do it for me this once but not in the future. I saw the doctor and have no complaints about me appointment. Later on I had to ring again with a query over the prescribed medication. The receptioinist (I think a different one) said I had to do it online. I told her I couldnt she said she would do it this once but said because she knew I had the internet she would not help me in future and I could only get an appointment if I do i online. I said I didnt have a smartphone she said well what kind of phone have you got? She was very rude to the point of being nasty. No matter how many times I try online I get ppointments for Dial house and not Ellsmere. So now in effect I have been told by 2 receptioinsts I can no longer see a GP because I have a computer but dont want to do this online. How many people are not going to make appointments they need because of this.

No sooner had I filled in the online request for an appointment today than I had a 'phone call from the surgery asking me to come in to see the doctor this morning. You can't ask for better service than that. With thanks.

  8. Review titled Horrendous Phlebotomist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2023

Just back from a blood test, on the way home and even after putting pressure on my arm as soon as the blood was taken the cotton wool/tape were full of blood. I’ve never given blood easily but have only had this trouble at Ellesmere. The same thing happened in November 2022 where I ended up with a lump and blood under the skin 3 inches in diameter. My arm is already starting to hurt so I’m sure I’ll have another wonderful pool of blood under my skin this time too…it just horrendous!

Very good practice. I have been to the surgery plenty of times recently and each time I have been impressed with the doctors and the overall running of the practice.
