My daughter was given an appointment for today to have a blood pressure monitor fitted. This appt was made on the surgery’s availability and we took time off work to attend. My daughter needed me present because she is having dizzy spells. The nurse called us in and asked if we were here for a blood pressure monitor or an ECG. The appointment given to my daughter clearly stated it was a Hypertension clinic appt to have an 24hr blood pressure monitor fitted so we wondered why this question was asked. The nurse went on to say (with a smile on her face) that there has been a mix up and they cannot fit the monitor because it needs to be back in tomorrow at 9am for two other patients. The nurse offered us another appt but we explained that we both had to get cover from work to take time off and we couldn’t take another appointment this week. The nurse said that she had spoken with the person who double booked and we then questioned why they didn’t call us the moment they realised the mistake. We can understand a mistake, these things happen, but we could not understand why we were not called the moment the error was identified which could have saved us the journey and the time off work. The nurse then went off and came back saying that she would fit it. We were relieved…until she started huffing and puffing and throwing the equipment down on the table. My daughter became very upset at this point and said she doesn’t want it done here. The nurse asked why and we told her it’s because of the way she is treating us and she said “well it’s because I’m going to have to cancel the 9am appointment tomorrow”. My daughter explained to the nurse that she was made to feel like a burden and no longer wants treatment here. My daughter explained to the receptionist that she will make arrangements for the 24hr monitor to be done via her pharmacy where she works and get the readings sent over. My family are all registered at this surgery and have been for over 60 years. The doctors are brilliant as are the receptionists. What a shame this nurses attitude does not align with the rest of the surgery staff. There was no care, no compassion and no remorse.

I registered with Dr B after having unpleasant experiences with Cuckoo Lane practice, and most recently Elmbank Surgery. I am extremely pleased with the surgery. The admin team are always respectful and helpful, and the doctor is a fantastic listener who doesn’t assess his patients superficially. He shows empathy at all times and it’s these human characteristics that make him stand out from all the other doctors I’ve dealt with over the years. He takes time to listen to the patient without brushing them off or cutting them off, or nodding his head impatiently, like so many other doctors for whom you are just a number and quite simply, unwelcome. I would like to congratulate him for being such a successful clinician and say that I am very lucky to call him my GP! The admin team is lovely, very well trained and hard working, very caring etc Raluca Harding

Recently I have received a service which I feel goes above and beyond what I would expect and thought it only fair to say so. Apart form very good care in the surgery itself, I got something I wasn't expecting. The surgery is trailing a service whereby, on issuing a new medication, someone offers a telephone consultation a week or so later to see how you are getting along and if you have any questions, side effects etc. This was hugely useful for clarifying some asthma issues, and some other medication which I was taking. the person rang me, was highly personable, listened, answered my questions when he knew, and quickly researched an answer when he did not. This was highly beneficial to me and I felt it only right to give strongly positive feedback. I do hope they are able to keep this service in place.

I recently visited Elmbank Surgery for a minor surgery procedure and my experience was outstanding from start to finish. This entailed three appointments. The reception staff were warm and welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free. Despite the busy schedule, my appointments started on time, which I greatly appreciated. The GP I saw was highly professional and thorough. He took the time to listen to my concerns without rushing, asked insightful questions, and explained everything in clear, understandable terms. I felt that my health was genuinely their priority, and his calm demeanor put me at ease. The follow-up care instructions were clear, and concise and I appreciated that he provided additional advice in terms of after care post stitches. Overall, I was delivered exceptional care, and I left feeling confident and well-cared for. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality medical care. Thank you.

I recently had a consultation with Dr at Elm Bank Surgery. Dr was thorough in his approach, showed empathy, and correctly diagnosed my problem. He made me feel at ease, that I could trust him, and that he could treat my problem within the same week with surgery. He also offered to continue to see me until my problem was fully cured which was very reassuring. I would have no hesitation in coming to see Dr in the future and would highly recommend him.

I filled out a fw8 form on the 28th June. The practise are lying to me and saying that they sent it off. I spoke to the nhs and they said they have not recieved my form however there were forms sent after my form from the same gp practise but my one was not in there. I was then advised to come back and fill out another form. When I went in I asked the receptionist if she can get the doctor to sign it now which takes 2 minutes was happy to wait but she refused. I wanted the gp to sign it so I could take the form myself and send it off recorded as I have lost trust in this surgery. The receptionist still refused saying the doctor has back to back patients. The fact that it was there family by not sending my form and then making it difficult for me. I am a pregnant working woman that does not have time for this. I am very very upset with this surgery and would never recommend anyone to come here.

Dear Khadija, thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are sorry that the form was not received by the recipient. The FW8 form was completed by the doctor and posted. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to confirm if the form was received by the recipient. You requested that the new form be signed by the doctor immediately, but please note that forms are provided to the doctor after surgery consultation times, typically at the end of the day. To prevent this issue in the future, we will now ask patients to collect the completed form themselves and handle the posting. Best wishes ELMBANK SURGERY

What can i say... i trust all peofessionals at elmbank wish my and my childrens health and wellbeing. The most hard working medical staff i know. They really apply pressure to neighbour surgeries. If all nhs was the same ..quality would be outstanding.

I have only been with this practice for a few years having left my previous surgery after a lifetime with them due to them becoming nothing more than a signposting practice who never wanted to see or speak with me. Due to recent poor health I have had the need to see or speak with a Doctor on a few occasions. Not only have I been able to access my Doctor with ease but the service and attention to detail has been excellent. I felt I had to write this review due to the amazing service I received today. I have done something to my shoulder and been in a lot of pain, pain killers and rest just not sorting it out so I called them this morning about 8.20am, and following a conversation with the lovely receptionist, I was given an appointment. By 10.30am I am back home having already seen a Physio! I doubt you would get great service like that even in the Private sector. In today's world when the GP's are so busy I feel very lucky to have found this practice, I really couldn't ask for more and I am so glad I made the switch from my old practice. Thank you Elmbank Surgery!

I went to my breast screening appointment today in Hanwell, what a spectacular department so warm, friendly, welcoming, put you at ease, glorious and a wonderful experience so thank you for the fantastic service lovely staff, I will never feel nervous attending again .
