I was called into the surgery exactly on time. The locum doctor I saw was positive and efficient and said she would arrange for me to be seen by the relevant department at QEH. Someone from the department phoned me the following day and arranged for an initial telephone consultation with a specialist nurse two days later.

But.... I took yesterday morning off work after waiting around three weeks for an appointment. I told the reception that I needed a double appointment because of a knee and shoulder problem. I had my appointment yesterday with a nice doctor. She said as I was talking.. sorry you inly have one appointment. I told her I booked two. I then mentioned my shoulder (long story) and that the last doctor (MSK) said if it isn't getting better I could need an operation and would need to talk to my doctor. Yesterday the doctor said... I will need to talk to Muscle / bone section she couldn't refer me to hospital for an MRI scan and to go to reception and book an appointment. Reception said the Doctor needs to book that. I said... sorry I have got to go to work. They said.. we will book you one now and call you back. That was yesterday. No call and a morning off work.

I was able to make an appointment on the same day I called. Opposed to before when I needed to call on specific days and these days changed over time. Reception seems more proactive and less hostile. Doctor was helpful and precise although the consultation remains very short and too fast. I also went for a female health appointment but told I could not get an exam because of a matter of months (not yet time for smear) but that’s more NhS fault rather than the gp. Overall, the service seems to have improved but I have not seen the two main doctors, these two doctors were rude to me on separate occasions so not sure if they have changed how their treatment of patients.

I have not met one Gp that hasn't been understanding. Nothing is too much trouble,they are very thorough and do not rush you,even if it takes a long time. The last appointment I had the Gp told me to get to A&E because I had a high temperature,and was in pain. I had a lung Infection and was kept in over night. Anything could have happened if she hadn't told me to go to the hospital. I am very happy with the surgery,even the receptionists are lovely.

Nurse seen on this occasion friendly quick and efficient in her job seen on time . Surgery was clean even though a lot of building work was going on . If I have any complaints it is just to say that when ever I have had to see a doctors there has been a couple of weeks delay in getting an appointment how ever I realise this is the same in most surgery’s I also would prefer some continuity in which doctor I would see having said this I am happy with the service bi have been receiving since joining this practice .

I attended because of a serious knee pain and swollen both ankle The doctor tried to take my BP both the hand culf was small she asked me to use the outside machine which I used my BP seems high to me I handed over to the reception desk has instructed I waited for about 10 mins thinking I will be called back since I asked the doctor for a prescription Up till now I haven’t had a call from the surgery

Despite all of the modernisation going on, there is a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I was lucky to have been given a next day cancellation, although I do have to wait several days for a blood test.
