    not seen my Doctor in 3 years have been treated by various medical people since then, The last Doctor I saw said call back if its still a problem and I will arrange a referral. Problem still causing a problem so phoned the surgery and was told my Doctor was on holiday and I would be put on a waiting list and should be seen in about two weeks. That time passed to see what had happened as was told now waiting lists were 8 weeks.I have had blood test results lost in the surgery even though they never left the building. The doctors complain they have to many patients and yet on average they get £155 per patient on their books. Ans d because of this they just don't see anyone and if you walk into the surgery there is never anyone there. On a positive point the receptionists are always polite but know they are in a hopeless position. I would not recommend anyone take their dog there for treatment. It's all money money money now.

    Dear Anonymous Thank you for your review I am disappointed and apologise for the lack of care you have received at The Family Doctors. If a GP is on annual leave you should always be offered an appointment with another GP and not be expected to wait until the GP returns. However some patients do prefer to wait but at this point they should be given a future appointment. Once bloods are taken these are collected daily and taken to the pathology labs. I will discuss the process with our nurse and HCA to make sure this is followed and therefore none should go missing. I am saddened to read that you feel we run the surgery for money and not for patient care as the GPs and myself are constantly reviewing policies and procedures to give the best care to all our patients.     Although not easy to get appointment Probably very challenging if your not online Once I had spoken to Gp invited for face to face consultation I was seen and physically examined Felt like I was listened to by empathic GP Didn’t feel like I was being a nuisance even though it was late on Friday afternoon I expect after a long week Tests arranged and called back one week later and hospital outpatient appointment arranged I feel there is a great deal of criticism of the NHS currently and feel that it is important to give positive feedback when appropriate In a previous professional capacity I worked in NHS and had exposure to many doctors I would like to praise the GPs professionalism and efficiency and say thankyou

    It's been my local practice for many years. They usually are very very busy. Honestly they always try there best to serve. The doctors there are great. They try to there best to serve to the highest of standards. I hope they receives more fundings so that they are resourced and able to continue to improve the service.

    I wrote an E-consult this morning for my poorly child. I was seen urgently and sorted by 11:30. The gp was kind and reassuring and listened to my concerns. Excellent service throughout, thank you

    Visited in November and diagnosed with bppv. Doctor superb and very understanding. Had to contact again December speaking to another Doctor in the Practice and again very understanding, service brilliant

    I been on the phone to the doctors about my 8month old baby for about 2hours and half . I was on 6 to 2 caller and then they say can’t reach your call and hang up me . Honestly not happy. That’s sooo poorly customer services. I can’t fill in the form as my baby still young. Honestly wort experices been in the ignite for 2hours and half and then to be hang up on my face

    Dear Anonymous i am sorry to read about the bad experience trying to get through to our surgery. Our busy times are 8am until 10am and would recommend you call after that time if its not an appointment you need. However there is no excuse to being kept waiting for 2 hours and then not getting the help you need. We do have a policy where children are seen or a GP has contact with the patient the same day. I will make sure our reception are all aware of this. If you have any further problems please contact the surgery on 0113 2602262 and ask to speak to the Practice Manager.     I've just seen I can't leave the name of the nurse I saw which is a shame as I would love for her to receive some level of recognition for the service she provided (I have made a note of it and am happy to forward it on if possible!). I saw this nurse recently, she was very new to the practice but was so knowledgeable, I just went for a routine check-up but she answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. I was seen quickly and left feeling positive, she was very attentive, especially in regard to mental health, I didn't go for that reason but after disclosing some of my history she made a concerted effort to make me feel welcome to approach the practice if I had any concerns about my mental wellbeing. I've been visiting this practice all my life and despite the changes in staff I have always felt very satisfied with the service here.

    I am disappointed to be writing this, but I can’t recommend this gp practice in good faith. The staff are nice, but there are practices at the surgery that prevent people from getting the care and support they need and want. Almost every time you call after 9:30sm you are told to call back tomorrow. It is so incredibly hard to reach a nurse and almost impossible to access a gp. I feel completely disengaged from local health services. I see little point in even attempting to get support from this surgery. My partner, who needs support with his mh as well as other health issues, has de-registered from the surgery after receiving poor support and many stressful encounters with the inflexible reception / appointment system. My advice would be to change the way you deal with appointments. Have set appointments for emergencies and book 2-4 weeks in advance for non emergency appointments. Open up access more for patients to gps and nurses and offer the telephone triage service as an option, not a mandatory requirement. I support the surgery in steps to be more efficient and use resources accordingly, but I believe that your system is currently failing local people and I fear it may result in serious illness or untimely death in the future. I have spoken to other residents in the town and I am not alone in feeling your services are inaccessible.

    Dear Emma Thank you for your feedback. I am Jacqui Coleman the Practice Manager at The family Doctors and would like to apologise for the service you have received at the surgery. Our policy is to offer appointments on the day and to offer up to 3 months in advance for both GPs and our nurse. I accept by 9.30am it is usual that we wouldn't have any left to offer for the same day, however you should be offered an appointment within 48 hours either face to face or telephone for a GP. Our care navigators should also be signposting you to other services where appropriate. Reading your feedback I can see that further training is needed.     Telephone calls answered promptly, always given an option of either face to face or telephone call from doctor or nurse.Always made to feel comfortable nothing is to much trouble by all staff.A well organised and efficient practise that gives patients confidence and trust.
