Fir Park is a fantastic practice with friendly staff. The Doctors are fantastic and very understanding. The reception team are second to none and will go out to their way to help you.

Seen to on time with a very knowledgeable practitioner who answered all the questions I asked and dealt with me with great empathy and set my mind at rest discussing the medication I am on and assured me that this is the correct medication for me

I phoned Mon 12/2/2022 spot on 8-00am 7 seconds after 8-00am the practise phone engaged. I continued non-stop 24 times same response. when I finally got through, I explained my trachea inflamed I have temperature. I am on extreme high risk with Lymphoma cancer/bronchiectasis of the lungs. I had nigh on 5 mths with pneumonia and haemophilus flu bacteria consolidated in the airways in 2017. The respiratory consultants have expressed I should be issued 10/14 days antibiotics. I was told no appointments etc left call tomorrow, I explained my situation how frightened I am of pneumonia. I find the stress and anxiety I get phoning the surgery knowing the experience you face. I tried my best to get them to accept my call for a call back from a Dr on 2/12/2022. It was suggested I call 111 or go to the drop in. The drop in congested bearing in mind my immune system is compromised. I have experienced it once didn't get past the nurse to see the Dr. I was sent away. I went straight to the A&E at Whiston after the Xray showed I had pneumonia. It did not instill me with any confidence. I was offered by the surgery and I have taken an appointment for 7-30pm on Friday at the local clinic Highfield with a locum. I accepted it out of desperation. I have to go out in these freezing conditions, I am 74. My cousin who is high risk, her GPs in Runcorn when the reception logs in to your name your name comes up in Red to identify your medical status of high risk and you should have a call back from a GP Clinician Nurse. I can only assume they do not have this system at Fir Park Medical. I know surgeries are busy but pre covid you could get a call back from a GP what has changed that has caused this situation.

We are experiencing an increase in demand for appointments by unwell children, who are given priority at the moment with the current outbreak of Scarlett Fever & Strep A. This is impacting on the waiting times for all appointments. After having a E consult with a Doctor who said was not qualified to do the treatment I require, another E consult was arranged 8 days later and I was not even told the date or time it was only looking on patient access site I found out about it. Made sure I had my phone with me all day and received no call from the Doctor. That was the 23rd of September and after speaking with a receptionist was told it was only a courtesy appointment, not sure what that means. After calling several times I’m still waiting and it’s now the 10th of October. Nearly four weeks and still not even seen a Doctor. Dire service and not acceptable.

Attempted to pre book an appointment for my child who is experiencing mental health issues. The receptionist refused to either book an appointment or refer my child on for triage insisting I call at 8 in the morning. If I call at 8 and have to take my child out of school unannounced on the day this will cause them further distress and anxiety. The reason I wanted to pre book an appointment was to avoid causing additional distress to a vulnerable young person. I would have hoped the surgery would have placed safeguarding over blind adherence to arbitrary rules.

Young daughter sent for tests, call up 3 days later and still sat there waiting for a Dr to review. Told could take 7 days??? Dont know what is going on with this Drs anymore, 100+ times to get through, no appointments, e-consultant up to 14 days to respond and to top it off if Dr calls you back and you miss call thats it your traige appointment has gone. Taking this further as not service is terribile.

We were pleasantly surprised to get a face to face appointment with the doctor. Very limited experience of doctor’s surgery due to family having general excellent health. Good advice and treatment from the GP. Experience was soured by a very rude receptionist that made us feel uncomfortable and we left feeling dissatisfied and unsure how to proceed, did not feel we could ask the receptionist as manner was abrupt. The front of house face of the practice is so important due to patients feeling anxious, particularly if they are unused to visiting the doctor’s surgery. We could not fault the consultation with the GP. I rarely, almost never, leave feedback but feel I have to on this occasion.

You never get to see your doctor,plenty of students or young doctors that do a lot of listening, then leave the room to ask the advice of an experienced medic. I really thought I had a doctor that cared when I needed help, but then it went downhill, and I get to be the one to tell the inexperienced person what they should do. I'm looking to change for someone to help me, and it may be the best looking surgery, but I need help , not a beautiful looking medical centre.
