Review titled Can't get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2024
It is impossible to get an appointment! I've called up at 8.30am when the surgery opens and been cut off. I've called up at 8.30am when the surgery opens and been told there are no appointment and that I need to call back the next day. I've called up at 8.30am when the surgery opens and been told that I have to use the online booking system...which I never got a response. It is incredible frustrating! The customer service and administration is poor quality, inconsistent and unhelpful. My family and I have been going to this surgery for over 30 years and this is worse it has even been.

I have been going for regular blood test in 2023 upto July 2023 unfortunately my dad was taken ill and soent 9 months in hospital i now care for my dad and work 40 hours a week they keep contacting me to do my bloods yet when i have phoned they don't do bloods after 1 o'clock it's disgusting that they can't help people that work and care for someone by fitting you in for a blood test telling me to go to the hospital or drive through why should i have to go there when i have a GP surgery up the road so can't have my bloods done no more because i can't get to the hospital due to caring for my dad and working can't get a doctors appointment that works round work and caring for my dad so basically my health will just get worse and probably end up in hospital were it will be to late just like it was to late for my dad when you was referring him to the cardiac clinic but ended up having a heart attack at home and is now bed ridden with a lot of health issues no point in even being registered at a GP surgery

Hello Lew Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a negative experience and that you were unaware that contacting us via an online form is just one of the ways to access our services. You can also contact us via phone or come in in person. Since introducing our new triage system in April we have worked really hard to reassure everyone that we are widening access and not restricting it. We have sent messages via text to our patients, we have displayed posters throughout the Practice and throughout the community, we had volunteers in Practice for the first 4 weeks showing patients how to use the online form if they choose to but also to reassure them that we can still be contacted by phone or in person. I would welcome any further feedback about your experience and what led to your belief that you could only contact us online. Kind regards Marie Wragg Business Manager

Review titled Kind, helpful and professional
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen - Posted on 14 November 2023
I attended for routine blood tests on 13th November. As has always been my experience with all the staff there, the nurse was kind, patient and professional. She went out of her way to discuss my concerns with a GP and arranged further tests and an appointment. I’ve always found all the staff there - GPs, nursing staff and reception staff - to be genuinely caring and trying to their best under what have been very difficult circumstances for both patients and staff over recent years. I’m very grateful for the care they all provide. Thank you

Review titled Superb receptionists but awful GP service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by GTR - Posted on 24 April 2024
If you want to see a nurse - no problem, if you want to see a GP - impossible - I haven't managed to see a GP here since before Covid. I rang three weeks constantly at 8.30 every morning only to be met by "sorry all appointments have been allocated try again tomorrow or go to Drop In"! You are my GP not the drop in, you are 5 minutes from where I live, not 5 miles from my home. Before Covid this GP practice was faultless now its impossible to get an appointment. I have nothing but praise for the receptionists who go out of their way to help you with anything but their hands are tied if there are no appointments available on the screen to give you. Ridiculous. The morning drop in should be reinstated as its perfect for people who work. There's not much point having a call back from a GP who says can you come in at 11 am when you're 6 miles away at work! Unacceptable

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our services and for your lovely comments about our Reception Team. I am sorry to hear that you were unable to obtain an appointment at a suitable time. Whilst we are unable to go back to having a drop in session like we had many years ago, we have been working incredibly hard to implement our new total triage system which was introduced on 17th April 24 which provides fairer access. If you have any questions about the new system please don't hesitate to speak to one of my colleagues or look on our website for more info. Best wishes Marie Wragg, Business Manager

Review titled Praise and admiration
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Linda Humphries - Posted on 13 October 2023
I would like to take this opportunity to give praise to all reception staff at Foxhill . All the girls greet you with a smile and try there best to fit you in with an appointment. Iv never known such pleasant receptionists . All the doctors are lovely, use first name terms to reassure you . Not forgetting the nurses , warm and friendly and so very gentle with the needle . I have vaccination last wk and never felt a thing . … Be weary of a particular member of clerical staff , have a witness to any conversations in the office .

Review titled Good practice

Difficult to make an appointment, much better when there was a drop in system. But if the symptoms appear to be serious there are out of hours appointments at nearby surgeries.
