  1. Review titled Superb receptionists but awful GP service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by GTR - Posted on 24 April 2024

If you want to see a nurse - no problem, if you want to see a GP - impossible - I haven't managed to see a GP here since before Covid. I rang three weeks constantly at 8.30 every morning only to be met by "sorry all appointments have been allocated try again tomorrow or go to Drop In"! You are my GP not the drop in, you are 5 minutes from where I live, not 5 miles from my home. Before Covid this GP practice was faultless now its impossible to get an appointment. I have nothing but praise for the receptionists who go out of their way to help you with anything but their hands are tied if there are no appointments available on the screen to give you. Ridiculous. The morning drop in should be reinstated as its perfect for people who work. There's not much point having a call back from a GP who says can you come in at 11 am when you're 6 miles away at work! Unacceptable

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our services and for your lovely comments about our Reception Team. I am sorry to hear that you were unable to obtain an appointment at a suitable time. Whilst we are unable to go back to having a drop in session like we had many years ago, we have been working incredibly hard to implement our new total triage system which was introduced on 17th April 24 which provides fairer access. If you have any questions about the new system please don't hesitate to speak to one of my colleagues or look on our website for more info. Best wishes Marie Wragg, Business Manager

  2. Review titled Praise and admiration

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Linda Humphries - Posted on 13 October 2023

I would like to take this opportunity to give praise to all reception staff at Foxhill . All the girls greet you with a smile and try there best to fit you in with an appointment. Iv never known such pleasant receptionists . All the doctors are lovely, use first name terms to reassure you . Not forgetting the nurses , warm and friendly and so very gentle with the needle . I have vaccination last wk and never felt a thing . … Be weary of a particular member of clerical staff , have a witness to any conversations in the office .

  3. Review titled Good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Difficult to make an appointment, much better when there was a drop in system. But if the symptoms appear to be serious there are out of hours appointments at nearby surgeries.

  7. Review titled Worst paractice ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2023

This surgery is still working in pandemic timetrying to get an appontment is impossible. Receptionists talk down to patients. Surgeries are supposed to be back to normal now. Patients should be able to get an appointment now when we ring. Someone needs to tell Foxhill that. Why are we still having to speak to a Dr first before we can get an appointment. I have just been told by a Dr to go to the walk in in town! At 70years old!! I thought the surgery had bettered itself by getting all new Drs. It seems that they have morphed into the surgeries way of working. Foxhill, take note. Appointments are back to being made when a patients tries to book one

Dear 'Anonymous' Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I am sorry to hear that our service has not met with your expectations. Unfortunately our practice along with most other GP surgeries are facing unprecedented demands. This is down to a number of factors which are out of our control. We offer the walk in centre to patients who feel their illness cannot wait and requires attention on that day. This is only offered when our appointments are at capacity. Since your review, we have now introduced a system called Total Triage. This is system that allows your request to be assessed by a doctor who will decide the best outcome. We are finding the system to be a success and it allows fairer access to our services rather than first come first served. I note your closing comment and would like to address it. We are fully aware that appointments are back. They never went away, but what we do not have are limitless amounts of appointments - as our patient population grows and the demands on our service increase this has a huge impact on availability. I hope you find our new system to be an improved way of contacting us. Natalie Wilkinson Assistant Practice Manager.
