I recently transferred to this gp surgery, after months and months of being dismissed by my previous surgery. I felt quite guilty as I was therefore bringing a lot of problems with me - issues which were worsened (and at the time, still unsolved) by the previous surgery - but I have been treated with nothing but kindness and empathy by each receptionist, doctor and nurse I have spoken to. From first registering I was offered a face-to-face appointment with my assigned gp, and was given plenty of time to be able to explain my circumstances and ongoing conditions. I hadn’t even requested this, so this was offered to me out of genuine care and concern, which I am incredibly grateful for. I was particularly worried about my prescription - a weekly-prescribed controlled drug which was significantly impacted by a world shortage - as this had been an endless battle with my previous surgery - but each time I have put in a prescription request or called reception with a question, I have only ever received a “that’s absolutely fine!”, and the request then being sorted far quicker than I would ever expect. My assignment gp (who I unfortunately cannot name), has genuinely been the first gp I’ve ever spoken to who has taken the time to listen to and validate my concerns. The course of action decided in my most recent appointment was an outcome I’d been trying to achieve for over a year with my last gp, so I cannot express how grateful I am. Thank you very much :)

Have to give praise to my doctor (unfortunately the review won’t allow me to name him) is a very intelligent, kind and compassionate man. Have come such a long way with his help and advice, also a gentleman who’s part of the care navigation team always extremely friendly, supportive and goes above and beyond to assist my requests. We’re extremely lucky to have such a good doctors available in Winchester. Really hope they get the recognition they deserve.

Havingbeen diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago I have had some excellent care from the diabetic team at Friaesgate. The last two appointments the staff have been so helpful so encouraging and so supportive. I have left feeling so uplifted and encouraged to take control of my health and manage this illness successfully. My particular appointment this last week where the female nurse was absolutely excellent and supportive in the advice, care and concern that she expressed. I would highly recommend the team at this practice.

I was seen immediately after the nurse took my BP and found it high. GP came and give me a thorough health check never in all my years has a check been so thorough. Thank you to all concerned

Had some tests....needed an internal check and more tests. All done expeditiously by the Practice whilst explaining all patiently and in a reassuring manner. Special thanks to my Doctor and another who stood in when she was unavailable. I cannot use names in this review but I did leave a message with reception as well.

I had a small problem last week and had to ring Friarsgate on two separate days. On both occasions, they got back to me quickly and arranged for me to see a GP in person. They were friendly, helpful and efficient.

I as given an appointment within a short time and the communication was excellent The session started promptly and the doctor was professional, kind, attentive and helpful The follow up action was delivered as promised within the time frame stated Excellent service

I have had positive experiences with doctors, nurses, receptionists and care navigation staff. All of them are empathetic, efficient and address my concerns seriously no matter how small they are in reality. They always follows up when they say they will and any referrals or queries are followed up quickly and correctly. I have seen this surgery for physical and psychological queries and both are treated as important and any fears I had were put to bed. Every effort is made for me to see my named gp but I have confidence seeing any member of staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this surgery to anyone.
