  1. Review titled Simple instructions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I have waited 2 weeks for a referral letter and due to numerous reasons nothing attributable to me I am still waiting for a referral letter. I have remained calm because that's what's expected but to say I'm disappointed with the service , especially as I had been promised a phone call due to anxiety about the reason for the referral first thing in the morning yesterday but instead I had to ring at 2pm to get the person who promised me the call answering the phone again that's should not be acceptable , and who by the way recognised me but didn't have the respect to apologise for not ringing me as promised. I was then put through to the secretary who has promised to get in touch with the doctor but can't guarantee the letter before Monday . Everyone can make mistakes I understand but how you recover those mistakes shows whether you care . If someone wants to email me for the full details of my issue please do, you have my email.

  3. Review titled What a palaver! IT seems to have passed this practice by

Rated 1 star out of 5

Just spent 16 minutes in a phone queue to ask my GP practice to link my husband to my NHS App and give me proxy access so I can order my husband's regular prescription requests via the App. No. Not possible. I have to come to the surgery (5 miles away) to pick up a form and complete it. Unable even to tell me what information is required to compete the form or if I will be able to complete it while I am there. So, back to paper requests it is then! What's the point of having Apps if paper applications are still going to be required? And no. The application could not be posted out to me!

Good Afternoon, Thank you for your review and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. As you are requesting proxy access for someone else, your husband in the case, we require a form to be filled out giving you consent. We regularly review our processes and will be happy to update this one when we receive the guidance from NHS England. Kind regards Tracey Johnson Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Ridiculous service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Alison - Posted on 22 July 2024

Booked a phonecall appointment for me daughter for 4th July never got a call and no explanation. Rebooted for the following week was told a prescription would be issued for medication went to collect to find out no prescription had been written for her. Angry does not come close to how I was feeling as now got to wait for Dr to write another prescription and then for chemist to get it ready. No apologies or anything. Even have a text saying a prescription had been written for her. Completely ridiculous something so simple has not been done

From the point of calling the service to emergency practitioners quickly arriving, all staff were friendly and professional. Staff listened well and responded to the needs of my elderly neighbour with supportive referrals.

Sadly was going on holiday and forgot one of my meds. Front street surgery, where so great in helping me and I just went to a local pharmacy at the airport and all was sorted. Was such a relief and they were totally fine helping me with my mistake. Thank you so much.

  7. Review titled Wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ishbel Herd - Posted on 15 November 2023

I have had cause to visit the surgery 3 times recently. On each occasion, I was seen the same day. Everyone: Doctors, nurses and reception staff were wonderful and caring. I have been a patient at Front Street for many years and cannot fault anything. I feel very fortunate to be a patient here.

  8. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Elizabeth - Posted on 13 November 2023

A Thursday: I rang the surgery. Following Monday: early morning telephone appointment. Friday same week: ECG and blood test. 10 days later face to face appointment to review test results. In the evening GP rang for information that had been overlooked. Have been referred to York Hospital - in February 2024. I joined this practice with my mother when I was three, had a break from it in the 1960s when a student, then re-registered in 1970. It has always been a very good practice.
